From A Mother To A Daughter
wisdom passed down,
generation to generation.
love from birth.
gentle songs,
sway you to sleep.
into womanhood.
into the real world.
the love stays,
with a blood connection
to strong to ever break.
a mother's love.

A True Friend
the one who says,
that funny inside joke,
just so you smile.
the one who laughs
with you,
and never at you.
the one who helps you up,
and yell at the one
who pushed you down.
smiles and secrets;
love and friendship.
arms linked tightly together.
us against the world.

We act so shy
as if we don't know
how to speak eye to eye
and keep our love so
we don't have the chance
when we seem to have it made
to finally dance the dance
and stop the rain on our parade.

It's a short poem about being afraid to love. Not being able to speak to each other and confront each others' feelings. Dance the dance means to go on with the life together. Rain on the parade is all the fears of being hurt. I hope this helps a little bit. This is all I have for right now.
