Position:Home>Poetry> How does this sonnet sound?Question:I have written a sonnet in the English style. Thanks for your comments! My friend, my friend, such a great companion; You pick me up whenever I fall down. Our friendship has grown like a banyan, Whose giant green leaves form a splendid crown. For since my youth you were forever there; Always by my side, through good times and bad. With only you could I my secrets share. Your smile brought me joy I never had, And your laugh was like a blissful bird’s song. Never will I forget your loving hand, Or the comfort that you gave for so long. The pain I now feel I cannot withstand. For like a vanishing golden sunset, You died and I try vainly to forget. Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I have written a sonnet in the English style.
