Question:THE ABSENT MINDED POET

I cannot find me pen
I know I left it here
I’ve searched from here to there
Already
Looked from far and near

I lifted up the pillows
Moved every darn box
Looked up in my shirt drawer
And even through my socks

I’ll trace all of my steps
From waking until now
Maybe, if I think real hard
I can find my pen somehow

Okay, I’ve gotten nowhere
And here, I now, still sit
I wish I knew…
Oh wait a few
Right now I’m using it!

Nother one of humor to break the norm.

Ha that's so funny man its like you were right there in the room with me while I looked for my own pen...But I've never been so scatter brained that i would look for a pen that was in my hand..That ending made the poem even better and my smile wider....Hmmm that reminds me of another question...How many mushrooms would you have to eat for that pen you were looking for to start talking to you ?...That was an exert from the realm of Dezy :D

I thank you so much for giving me something to laugh about. i haven't had a good chuckle in a long while. Though it does not take away from the reality of what I am going through, it does me good to see I have true friends.

liked it, good poem...lol...it was good.

Humor is not fitting for a poet... It is degrading to the art. Only in rare instances can it be put to good use. You are switching too much between styles, you need to find one and hone that as much as you can until you reach its perfection... at least as far as YOU can go.

I like it. Thanks for the chuckle. I'm having a bad day and you made me laugh a little.

Wow, I really like it.
Very nice work:)

Thanks for talking to me about poetry, and posting stuff for examples... or telling me what to look for.

I like your funny stuff but I want to learn more about the deep parts of poetry.

Once again Lylac, try to stop telling people how to feel through their poems.
Every one is entitled to their opinion ill give you that.
Please try to be nicer about it, what do you say?

Rouxe, thanks for the laugh.
You have indeed, a way with words, well done.
Never stop writing {:-)

I love the humor, and I actually identify. I do the same thing. I can't find a damn thing, until I find out that I'm holding it, and using it.
