Position:Home>Poetry> Poem about Religion and WWI?

Question:I'm only 15 and I've never been on any courses or what-not to enhance by poetry skills.
So bear that in mind when judging my poetry... thank you.

His voice was raised o'er shouts and guns,
As boys and men climbed ladders.

They gathered round and bowed their heads,
As bones and lives were shattered.

The cup wouldn't pass for the men sat around,
As schoolboys cried for home.

They carried their burdens to thier own Golgotha,
And like dogs, walked into the drone.

He sank to his knees in the crimson mud,
But the violence spun out of control.

And all the while in his fist lay a cross,
Silent and heartless and cold.

Well. That is a fine poem. I have written poetry for over twenty years and I feel most qualified to say you have done an excellent job. You have just set an example for the hundreds of young people who come here so that people like myself will do their poetry homework for them. You have distinguished yourself among many. Thank you for this incredibly well written read. Please continue to write.

I like it

It's delicate, the way it's written. It's meter is almost perfect. Well done. I'm younger then you, check out some of my poetry.
