Question Home

Position:Home>Poetry> Will you read my poem please and tell me what you think?

Question:This is a Tarot poem, and I've posted it before, but they removed it because the question was phrased wrong. Oh, well. I wasn't able to see the answers...frustrating.

PAGE OF CUPS

You peer so deep
but never seem
to realize
what you see.

Every time
that you return,
you bear tales
of faraway--
of heavens
and of hells.

We listen,
rapt,
to your voice,
hearing within
echoes of the divine.

Looking at all your brief, non-insightful answers, I decided to do something new and post my thoughts stanza-by-stanza.

You peer so deep
but never seem
to realize
what you see.

Somebody is looking within someone/ something (first thought was "cup"), but they don't understand the full meaning behind it, or perhaps grasp a meaning that isn't there, what transcends the concrete and tangible.

Every time
that you return,
you bear tales
of faraway--
of heavens
and of hells.

Upon finishing this "viewing" the looker has only elaborate, fanciful stories to tell. Perhaps they felt some magic in what it is they saw? They were captivated by their own imagination. Wishful thinking on their part?

We listen,
rapt,
to your voice,
hearing within
echoes of the divine.

The audience to this new-found storyteller is now also exposed to the magic, as the teller is obviously skilled in this facet of art.

Wonderful how you wrapped it all together. To me, you presented perfectly the hidden wonders that make up the talent of a true artist, or atleast great public speaker.

etherial and delicious... though short, every word counts.

I like the poem. What inspired you to write it?

I'm not quite sure I understand the meaning of it but it is good.

Very good.

that poem is good i like it

It's quite good really.

i like it....
but personally i prefer poems with rhyms
i still really like your poem!!!
keep writing!!!!

Your poems are really good.
Nothings over used, or a cliche of other poems.

They're original, Good Job.

I have no knowledge of Tarot, so I am unbiased by it. But I know a good poem when I see one. I've seen a couple more of yours. I enjoy the leanness of your style. I also am intrigued by your descriptions because they are open to several interpretations. I have always felt that a truly good work of (any) art is both a window and a mirror. So here's lookin' at you, kid.

Perhaps you should ask the Page of Cups what he thinks? (joking)

A fine picture of someone whose wisdom you respect, are awed by.

lol, this is what we'd all be doing coming to your book signing...
which of course would be everyones pleasure and awe!

ill take 2 books please.

I really think SWOOSH deserves something for taking time to do what he has done... but that is only my thoughts.
