What would we do with no clothes?

Question:Clothes

The day that we are born it starts,
They dress us in warm clothes.
With bonnets on our tiny heads,
And booties on our toes.
All through our life it stays the same,
We're dressed to some degree.
But if there were no clothes to wear,
Our bodies could be free.
A problem here, delima there,
We'd have to work around.
Some would be simple and some hard,
But all must be quite sound.
Where would the fireman pin his badge,
The nurse her large name tag.
We'd have no pockets for our stuff,
We all must use a bag.
Where would the coppers hang their cuffs,
Their nightstick and their gun.
Where would they store the gear they have,
If they should need to run.
What of the klansmen with no sheets,
Or burglars with no mask.
To figure what to do with these,
Is just no simple task.
If all the clothes were gone today,
To nevermore return.
I think the world a better place,
I think my clothes I'll burn.

Naked with no cloths on. . .

Of course, we would be very cold in the winter,

and sunburned in the summer. . .

All could see the long and short of it,

and none could hide those love handles. .

Which would probably stop a lot of relationships before they started. . .

and a lot of clothing makers would be out of work. . .

but we would use less cotton. . .

and not have to worry about being on the cutting end of fashion. . .

and it would be hard for Johnny Cash to have been himself without looking like Al Joelson

And the Klan would not have stood out like they did. . .

But bank robbers would be easier to identify

and cops harder to find. . .

I guess fire fighters would be REALLY hot, if you get my drift. .

and strip clubs would be out of business. . .

We wouldn't need rain gear. . . and I bet our range of livable latitudes would be much more limited. . .

Kewl poem. It would be a bit cold up here in NY without clothes this time of year. (But we do skinny dipping in the summer and I often wish so much of others wouldn't be revealed).

There was a time when we didn't wear clothes, but we now choose to do so because we want to live in places that grow too chilly for naked bodies. We also love to decorate ourselves and clothes serve that desire. It's true that modesty wasn't an issue at that time, and we probably had sex with a wider variety of people because we were always in "ready" mode. All of these reasons shaped our culture. You're suggesting we change our culture but I have to tell you that I enjoy wearing clothes as opposed to sitting around naked. Of course, you are more than welcome to be nude. Nudity is not offensive.
