What is your version of being happy or is an illusion !?
Is happiness a constant or a moment !? What conditions do you have to make you happy !? What is being happy !? Do you have different things you aim for rather than being happy !?
Myself I have problems defining happy so I rarely use the word when referring to myself but I catch myself asking others if they are happy all the time, I guess mainly using it as a substitute for ok!.
Please share your definition of the word!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It does not take much to make me happy!. LOL!.!.!. but one important thing is for me to have peace in my life!. Not only peace of mind, knowing that I am being the best I can be for myself and others, being a good and decent person, but also that sense that all is as it should be!. That everything is in place!. Being somewhat in control of things and seeing all going smoothly!. Making plans, working at them, and seeing the fruit of my labor!.
Being able to share that peace and any accomplishments with someone special doubles that happiness!. At least in my case!.
Unfortunately in life, happiness is not a permanent state, it does not last as long as we would like it to in many cases, but!.!.!.we can always strive to continue to bring into our lives those things that make it a happy one, in hopes that the happy times will outshine by far the not so happy ones!.!.!. :)
Yes Growth, is definitely an important word as well as Harmony, and Balance!.
**Perhaps "fulfilled" or "complete" could be used instead of "happiness"!? Just a suggestion!.!.!.!. ;-) **Www@QuestionHome@Com
In Buddhism there are different words for happiness!. Joy and that pleasant sensation are considered good, but equanimity is considered the highest form of happiness!. The happiness that comes from being excited and joyful to me seems like a drug!.!.!. drunk people know how fantastic it feels to be happily drunk!. However the joy and excitement form of happiness seems unable to maintain, and this why buddhism says life is dukkha (commonly mistranslated as 'suffering', it really means what makes us happy is difficult to maintain)!. I think happiness is being unaffected by negative or positive emotions, which I consider to be as much chemical reactions than anything else!. Equanimity happiness is looking at an emotion and thinking "I should be sad but I'm not" because you're looking at it with detachment; when positive emotions come you can acknowledge it but not cling onto it because it won't maintain and can pull you downwards as well!. The state of equanimity though should be a pleasant one though like the state the mind feels in meditation!. It's great to feel happy butterflies and your blood racing etc!., but it's also great to be happy from alcohol but it doesn't seem to be advocated because it's not a 24 hour long-term way of happiness, just like experiences that can push us into happiness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
It seems to be a brief thing, moment to moment!. I can very much imagine feeling happy all the time, and its that that keeps me striving really, that one day I'll have that!. But in reality I think happiness comes and goes, day to day!. It depends how others are towards you and how you feel about yourself!.
I think if you are lucky enough to be really happy with who you are, then you've a good chance of being consistently happy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Happiness, for me, lasts moments!.!.!.!.!.
What is constant, is an optimistic attitude, positive thinking, clear conscious!.!.!.!.!. These are for me a state that easily leads me to moments of happiness!.
Illusions!.!.!.!. I don't think it is such a bad thing, if it makes a person happy!.!.!.!. You see, I believe that a happy person can be a better person!. A good person!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Happiness is an emotion, like depression, or humour!. It’s not a permanent term, but whichever emotion hangs over the most defines what you fall under!. If it is depression more so then you need to change something in your life, unless you a poet!.!.they are always happy being err…unhappy!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
