Question: Good songs about life choices , maybe some personal philosophies!?
I'm feeling pretty down on morale lately!. graduating from high school i never got to go to college abroad and study what i really wanted to study, because my interests in life didn't agree with my family , I'm a fourth year university student a semester away from graduating still per suing my personal goals through another medium and learning on my own , but i still feel the disapproval !. Bottom line is i'm made to feel like my goals and interests in life are irrelevant and that the goals and expectations my family looms over my head are law!. It'd be nice if anyone knew a few uplifting songs about life choices i could make a playlist out of!. maybe a few parting words!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have a hard time relating to your situation!. When I went to college my father said "he's too lazy to WORK for a living" EVEN THOUGH I had to work TWO JOBS (1 FT 1 PT) to support myself while I went to college!. Nobody cared what I wanted to study, and I got $600 in grant money MY WHOLE 4 YEARS! (probably equal to about $3,000!. in today's money!.)

I flunked out of college and became seriously depressed and NOBODY CARED!.

So inspirational songs:
"Make Yourself" by Incubus
"I am a Rock" by Simon & Garfunkel (use Me 1st & the Gimme Gimmes, if you want more punk play list)
"No More Mr!. Nice Guy" by Alice Cooper
"Free At Last" by G!. Love (& Special Sauce)
"Dreams for Plans" Shakira
"Free Man in Paris" Joni Mitchell
"Big Shot" Billy Joel
"My Way" Frank Sinatra (or punk version: The Sex Pistols)
"I Want To Be Sedated" by the RamonesWww@QuestionHome@Com

I know this may sound weird, but I think the best kinds of songs are songs that you can sing your heart out to!. You don't have to be a good singer, but I feel that music always calms the soul; well, for me at least!. And I'm not talking about hard-core, punk rock songs or screamo songs!. The types that make me happy are mellow songs, usually about love!. I can just sit in my room, listen to them, and belt my heart out for hours!.

I've also picked up the piano!. I love the sound of it and when I play, my stress is gone for the moment!. It's my moment of zen!. I recommend playing an instrument; it's so calming!.

Here are some soft songs that I recommend!. They're mostly about love, but they make me happy!. I'm also a big fan of the plain old acoustic guitar; no lyrics, just instrumental!. also, a lone piano is good, too!. I also included some light-hearted songs!. Here they are:

At Last - Etta Jones
Brand New Day - Sting
No Such Thing - John Mayer
Rise - Eddie Vedder
Hard Sun - Eddit Vedder
Here Comes the Sun - The Beatles
The Friend I Never Met - Andy McKee
By and By - Brett Dennen
Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall - Simon and Garfunkel
January Rain - David Gray
Clair de Lune - Debussy
Dueling Guitars - Doug Smith and Heitor Pereira (August Rush)
Roll if Ya Fall - Barefoot Truth
Tuolumne - Eddie Vedder (Into the Wild)
Clocks - Coldplay
Dark Blue - Jack's Mannequin
Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley
Every Little Thing is Gonna Be Alright - Bob Marley
Boston - Augustana
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
The General - Dispatch
Wonderful World - James Morrison
That 70's Song - Cheap Trick
Send Me On My Way - Rusted Root
Sun is Shining - Slightly Stoopid
Walk this Way - Aerosmith
Stayin' Alive - BeeGees
Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf
Work it Out - Jurassic 5 & Dave Matthews Band
Message in a Bottle - The Police

I know these songs don't really have to do anything with life choices, but these are some of my favorites!. Hope I helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just remember that millions of people are going through what you are going through!. (Including myself!. I was just laid off from a job I worked seven years!.!.) But I'm confident that most of those millions will find good solutions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
