Question: Is there a a way to make a utopia without going through socialism!?

I don't think there is a way of reaching utopia without AVOIDING socialism! To me, socialism (where each person lives for the benefit of the community instead of themselves) is almost as far fro utopia as you can get!. In my view, utopia can only be reached through freedom of thought and action!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Utopia is not possible with current technology because people are different!. We'd have to have a zillion nations, some of a single person to have utopia!. Socialism is the opposite of utopia and more like the
"Brave new world" "1984" brand of totalitarianism!. Remember Socialism is simply put giving your freedom over for security!. Your income is your power and to turn it over to the Gov is to make yourself helpless against that same Government!. Socialism also creates demands upon you requiring a level of uniformity among the people to make the system more efficient!. The more socialist a nation the higher the level of uniformity that is required!. That is very much the opposite of Utopia since Humans are not meant to live the life of ants!. Our very spirit rebels against that concept!.

Utopia is eventually going to be technically possible but even then do we want it!? Each person could once technology is sufficient live in a bubble of thier own interacting with others only when they chose to do so!. All of their basic needs and wants would be met but enough challenge would be left to keep life interesting!. That would be the only workable utopia!. Any other Utopia is hell for most and heaven only for the select few at the top!.

A semi-Utopia is quite possible and there already is a political theory which advocates individualism, social responsibility and justice to all in society but which does not only turn away from socialism but actually abhors socialist principles and that is Neo-Populist!. Neo-Populism is a system about what the people want good or bad!. Socialism is the infliction of a small number of people's ideas on the masses!. Socialism is the stripping away of individuality in order to recieve that security promised!. The giving away of one's self determination!. Socialism is submission to the all knowing big Government!. A blight on the soul of humanity, an evil worse than the worst mass murderer!. Killing the body is bad, trying to kill the souls of people is far worse!.

Neo-Pop is about the individual and their rights!. It is about paving the way for people and believing people are deep down mostly good and given the opportunity will show you they are!. Socialism is the opposite!. It believes deep down people are bad and must be made to be good!. Captialism is an economic system that ignores people!. The only problem is capitalism has no concious!. So if the governing system of a Capitalist system does not take up that role much evil can be done in the name of Capitalism!. That governing system can be social mores, or even a real government or a combination but something has to mitigate the greed!.

I think really that is what you are looking for!. Mitigation of the greed!. A system that both watches over it's people but doesn't lord over them!. That system would be Neo-pop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Strictly speaking, "utopia" means nowhere!. It is a fictional place which one believes will provide a perfect life, but each person's idea of what such a place would be must differ!. Some want socialism, some want corporate capitalism, some want anarchy in which there is no government, but all decisions are made by the common will!. Any sort of attempt can be made, but the perfect state which seems best to all people does not and cannot exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course!. Utopias depend totally on what your conception of an ideal is!. Plato viewed the ideal state as one that makes all it's citizens virtuous!. I don't see how socialism is the best way to bring that about!. So if your ideals don't mesh with socialism, then socialism would probably not be an ideal state or even a step toward that ideal state!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Utopia will probably never happen!. But I can guarantee that socialism with lead you so far from it, you won't even be able to see it in the distance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

kinda like jones town i guess, except without the cult and the lunatics running the show!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
