if you didn't know you were dying, then you wouldn't be afraid!. you would have no concept of dying!. if my death is sudden, that is how i hope to die!. but if i know i'm going to die from a long illness or something then i would want my family with me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I prefer to die in my sleep beside my loving wife!. I say that because if you die in your sleep you probably will not feel any pain!. I want to go as painless as possible!. My dad was in hospice 48 days and was in terrible pain!. I do not want to die that way!. Now if I am with my wife and possibly friends and just keel over dead that is okay also!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Non-awareness of the moment of your death!. Just as we don't like to be conscious during surgery because of the full awareness of the pain we don't seek to know the pain of dying!. If there is pain or not is unknown but it seems like there is!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i guess cause if your asleep your already at peace and things are serene!. Plus people have this preconceived notion that death must be excruciatingly painful so therefore if they are asleep they won't feel it!. (not all death is painful, depends on how you die)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are dying a painful death by, say, cancer it would be more preferable to die painlessly while asleep!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
