Question: From Levinas' philosophical point of view, how can you explain the line "For you, a thousand times over!."!?
"For you, a thousand times over" is a line taken from the movie The Kite Runner!. It was stated twice, one by the young Hassan to Amir and the other by Amir to Sohrab!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it was a device to be able to show that finding resolution is finding it in ourselves - not staying in a victim role but becoming active!.Amir is a sandwich short of a picnic in the courage stakes and his pulling back hurts his friend over and over so he has a chance to change his nature and set things straight and find out how to give love in the open hearted way that hassan was capable of giving him!.

I dont know what kind of philosophy that is probably somethign like "what comes around goes around" but it fits in with a lot of spiritual ideasWww@QuestionHome@Com

that is far too little to really reflect on how levinas may have interpreted it!. it is much like asking someone to offer an explanation of "play it again, sam" as hegel would have!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

they would do it then, and if given a thousand other oppurtunities they would then tooWww@QuestionHome@Com
