depends on your religion!.
my belief, if you wanna know, might not suit most people but suits me just fine!. our souls (if you believe in them) ask us what we really want to do and then we do it!. we can go with other people when the die after or before us, we can just rest forever, or we can decide to live over again!. i know this is corny but, there may even be a heaven where you dont feel pain anymore!. a place where your at peace and not scared or sad, just loved!.

Where your soul goes after you cease to be, is where you convince yourself it will!. That is thanks to DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine, a drug found in your brain!. DMT is a hallucinogen, and when you die, it is chemically released!. Based on my interactions with people informed of hallucinogens via personal experience i can say that it is not so uncommon for a hallucinogen to warp space and time - depending on the potency of the hallucinogen taken!. Considering that DMT is the strongest hallucinogen you can get your hands on, it would not be so un-true to suggest that ten seconds can be experienced as ten millenia!.

So as your frail, or heretofore perfectly healthy, physical body is falling into the abyss, your soul goes "hey bud, this is too tragic, i cant handle this as is!." Then your brain, in its last vurtuous act, says "no problemo, mon amie!." and boom - your trippin balls in heaven, or in smirf-ville, or in strawberry fields with tangerine trees and marmalade skies, for the seemingly infinite time span of a few seconds!.

for those convinced they are going to hell - here is an easy way to avoid it!. instead of dreading the last waking seconds of your life for fear of where you will go upon its cessation, embrace the moment!. Death is an experience, and its your last one, so enjoy it!. Be euphoric and enjoy the trip!. As with any psychodelic, if you are not in the right frame of mind upon ingestion, or when the effect takes place, then you are highly probable of experiencing a bad trip!. Or, your outlook influences your reaction to a given substance!. So if your thinking about firey chasms of eternal torture, your probably not going to have a good trip, and since for most people it will be the first trip you take, you dont want it to be a bad one that lasts for 'eternity!.'

If you want to be technical, nobody who hasn't died can know for absolute certainty!.

however, we have no reason to believe that there is some sort of life after death!. there's not a shred of evidence nor any good philosophical arguments for life after death!. they are out there, but I dont find them convincing!.

it may make one feel better to think that there is life after death, but if you want to be true to the evidence and the facts, then you shouldn't believe in such a thing!. however, if you don't care about truth, or knowledge, then go right ahead and believe!. it's called faith!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

One of the basic laws of this universe is that matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed!. It is simply rearranged into other forms!. In the big picture, there was the same amount of matter/energy when the tiny seed existed as when the enourmous tree existed, and the same amount when there was a tree as when there was measly pile of ash!.

When an animal dies nothing ceases to exist except the system that the animal was!. It no longer interacts with it's environment, rather it becomes lifeless, inanimate, and pretty quickly forms part of the environment for other creatures!.

So, in answering your question: We do not go anywhere after we die, we remain here with one major difference - we cease to be 'we', and become nothing but the sum of our parts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here's my opinion on the whole thing!.

Life is a natural and biological event which happens within one person!. That is, two people do not share a life!. Everything in one's life is one's own!. And life, being a natural and biological event, comes to a natural and biological end!. Which is to say that when you die, life ends!. Hence, the terms alive and dead or live and die!. So, when you die, you die, everything dies!. You are gone and never coming back!. They'll bury your bones in the cemetery for 100 years and then dig you up and discard them to make room for new bones!. But you won't care one bit because you'll be dead!. You wouldn't be able to care even if you wanted!.

my view is nobody knows because in all actuality there's is no answer to anything there are only beliefs of an answer so 2+2=4 could be yellow to me or ask anybody to prove that they know where we go after we die just keep asking them how can they prove it and eventually they don't have an answer!.
