Thus evil, from the point of view of human welfare, is what ought not to exist!. Nevertheless, there is no department of human life in which its presence is not felt; and the discrepancy between what is and what ought to be has always called for explanation in the account which mankind has sought to give of itself and its surroundings!. For this purpose it is necessary (1) to define the precise nature of the principle that imparts the character of evil to so great a variety of circumstances, and (2) to ascertain, as far as may be possible, to source from which it arises!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Man before the dawn of civilization!. Look at a child for instance!. They hold no preconceived notions of the world and are thus man in his purest form!. Yet children lie, steal, cheat, etc!. This is explained by the fact they are immature and haven't been taught the difference between right and wrong!. Where as immaturity is not yet having societies values regulate what you perceive as right and wrong (good and evil if you will)!. Man is instinctively evil and to cast away our more primal instincts we must agree to live in a society governed by rules!. Biologically our purpose is to survive and procreate, thus in order for us to survive we must live in away that is best at keeping human beings on this earth as well as keeping ourselves alive!. Therefore when we conform to society we stop behaving in an evil manner!. To break these rules from to time to time is only human, but when we cross the line of reasonable mistakes and move into true filth we are seen as evil because we become slaves to our more primal instincts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I'vee read most of the replies to this question, and I wasn't impressed!. Everyone is caught up on the idea of killing and hurting people as the true meaning of evil!. It is seen as a plague that should be eradicated!. But if there is no evil,there can be no good!. Not that anyone in this world is "good"!. Mankind is the only species that is so contradicting and ignorant that the world would actually function better without it!. The only difference between good and evil is how society feels about the person!. The actions are the same,but the evil man isn't afraid of what people thinks,so he survives longer!. Of course that means that most of our society is evil but then again we have come to the age when we would rather be the evil villain or villainess that the hero or heroine!. In reality its they way we choose to go about a problem that presents us, evil is going about it in the most destructive was with the intent of causing someone or something grief or woe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com fear greed manipulation!. there are those who perpetrate fear and control others!. there are those who do not speak up and hand their control over to others then complain about not being treated right!. evil i do not believe in however giving up or giving in has devastating affects and there are always those who are more then willing to walk away with our power!. i am not perfect and suffer from these faults to on all levels!. people who sleep walk are just as responsible as the nightmares they produce!.Www@QuestionHome@Com if i answer this honestly, i'll get a lot of thumbs down, reported, and probably kicked off for good and that'd suck cause i like this account!. so i'll say it simply!. evil can not be named!. i disagree with what a lot of people have put!. bad can not be told it's bad, cause one who is bad may see them self as good!. misery does not know it's miserable, and happiness does not know it makes one smile, and in that, evilness can not say it's evil, because then it would be admitting a greater evil, and thus putting it merely as bad!. i could say i think religion to be evil, just as someone said they believe evil to be the absence of god!. but i do not believe in god, and who's to say if the god they believe in believes in himself!. It can't be proven either way!. many say I'm evil, which i might just be, but i think of others to be evil as well!. also, i don't see evil as!.!.!. evil, as it is commonly put!. there are people i call evil, and i love them to death!. but as far as bad evil goes, turkeys are evil!. >!.<Www@QuestionHome@Com i would say something that comes with the perception that it is good, but truly isn't!. that just makes it worse as it has simultaneously tricked and dissapointed you!. ex; hmm, how about misinterpretation of religions and an almighty being to cause suffering on the world (crusades, extremism, inquisition)Www@QuestionHome@Com evil is when people PURSPOSLEY hurt other people in any way(physically, emotionally etc!.) !.
