Question: Do you agree!? Is this your definition of beauty !?
This is something I wrote in my exam!.!.!. About a year ago, I found it in a pendrive which I did not use for quite some time!.!.!. Care to share your thoughts!? About my essay and the definition of beauty!.!.!.

Beauty, the word literally means to have attractiveness for others!. It can be found in people, paintings, and poems!. To be beautiful, is to be or to appear alluring, elegant and gorgeous to others!. Some may argue, though, that beauty is not something which can be found on the outside, it is found internally!. A person who is generous and active in chivalrous deeds and philanthropy is said to have true beauty!. So then, is beauty found internally or externally!? Alas, the answer to this question is not for me to decide as different people have different opinions!.

External beauty is remarked to be only important for those who are said to be shallow-minded or blind-eyed!. This statement, however, is quite unfair as it is the nature of us, humans, to appreciate and admire outward beauty!. Paintings are also a form of external beauty!. The beautifully sketched drawings and the brilliantly used colours, aren’t those the reasons as to why we simply admire paintings!? Why are the esteemed artworks of renowned artists such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh, hung in museums!? True, we should not neglect the integrity of person but nor should we disregard of their outward appearance!. External beauty is one of the varying gifts that are bestowed by God to men!. A person is said to be blessed to have these gifts, these talents!. Is it a sin to appreciate a gift that is given by God!?

The beauty that cannot be seen or touched and can only be felt by our hearts is the internal beauty, it has no external form!. This form of beauty is also known as the eternal beauty as it is everlasting and it will not fade by age nor by any physical means of destruction!. This beauty has a more intricate meaning to it compared to external beauty!. A person who has a forgiving heart, a charming personality and is able to carry himself/herself well, is said to have beauty, internally!. This beauty too must be appreciated as it is also a gift that is bestowed by God to the very few!. Unlike the external beauty, this beauty lasts for a lifetime and perhaps even longer!. William Shakespeare had used this form of beauty to immortalise the immeasurable beauty of his benefactor through the lines of his poem, Sonnet 18!. His benefactor lives, so long as people still reads his poem!.

Beauty is in the hands of the beholder, whatever or whoever who seems to be beautiful to one may not be the same for others!. As I have said, different people have different opinions!. Each opinion of ours may not alike as we each have our own opinions!.
It matters not whether beauty is found internally or outwardly, what matters is rather where we wish to find beauty in!.

I was err!.!.!. very passionate when I wrote this!.!.!. Which accounts for my style of writing on that time!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
It is thoughtful but not tight!. Learn to be concise and stop hedging!. Get completely venerable and write it in the 1st person singular! Put it forth as Exposition and don't give a care about consensus!. After all, that is what this is about!.!.!.a little of your soul bleeding on the paper !.!.!.or screen in this instance!. Courage lad! You may be our Shakespeare!.!.!. after the honing of skills and another draft!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

sounds good!.!.u dud greatWww@QuestionHome@Com

wow!.!.!.
i agree so much!.
i love your style of writing by the way!.
now this is what teachers should include in school!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I disagree!. I would say that there is only one type of beauty!. It is internal and subjective!. It is internal in that our own senses interpret the external object and classify it as beautiful, somewhat beautiful, or ugly!.Beauty is based on biochemistry and brain function!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You make a very sound argument however I wish to bring up 2 things;
First when you mentioned sonnet 18, his benefactor has no name nor anyway of telling who she was or if she ever actually existed!. The only one to achieve immortality from this work was Shakespeare!. So "thee" was himself!.
"So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee!."

Second I have always imagined that confidence is a form of beauty that lives as long as the man but no longer!. Unlike the physical beauty that fades with the season, and unlike the inner beauty that lasts far into the future it inspires confidence of those around you and is they key to both forms of beauty!. Of course this is just my opinion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nice!.!.!.It is how we use the outward show that demonstrates our understanding and appreciation of what is beautiful within it!.

Shakespeare used this theme profusely!.
PETRUCHIO
Well, come, my Kate!. We will unto your father's
Even in these honest mean habiliments!.
Our purses shall be proud, our garments poor,
For 'tis the mind that makes the body rich,
170 And as the sun breaks through the darkest clouds,
So honor peereth in the meanest habit!.
What, is the jay more precious than the lark
Because his feathers are more beautiful!?
Or is the adder better than the eel
175 Because his painted skin contents the eye!?

Oh, no, good Kate!. Neither art thou the worse
For this poor furniture and mean array!.
If thou account'st it shame, lay it on me,
And therefore frolic! We will hence forthwith
To feast and sport us at thy father's house!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nice!

Flamesof, I like that second part you talk about!.

I also try to find something that I admire (their beauty) in everyone!. Some people are so unlovely externally that we tend to miss what is beautiful about them!. Those unseen personal qualities are so much more important than waste size, eye colour, or your particular favorite physical attribute!.

People are not the some of their parts external but their base value is found in being human and then they have the opportunity to add to their beauty by practice and disciplines that make them able to put others first and help their fellow man!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Heh!.

I see!.

One thing i would Advise in your reasoning, is that although Beauty is in the hands of the Beholder, it is worth checking to see whether or not this particular philosophy has a Practical Application!.

Certainly, walking about all the time as if people are ugly is a rather upsetting mentality!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
