You're absolutely right!. Intelligence in this society nowadays is viewed as basically people getting good grades or being good at math!. That is so wrong!. There are so many different levels of intelligence!. I think school systems nowadays are completely twisting our society into brainwashing people to believe that there is only one level of intelligence!. It really sickens me!. I feel we need to improve the school systems to incoroporate the real world and our overall potential not just how many different combinations of a pizza we can come up with or some other random thing!. Just because you're academically smart doesn't make you a "smart" person or intelligent!. People just think it does!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I my opinion, intelligence is not the facts you've learned (that is knowledge) but the 'processing speed or ability' that the brain has, similar to a computers processing abilities!.
It is linked with awareness, because we need that prossessing to be intelligent to be aware!. Without intelligence there is no awareness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Intelligence is not memorized facts, but the capacity to learn!.
Everyone has some degree of intelligence, but some people can learn faster or more easily than others!. Therefore, they tend to know more than others!.

You can be highly intelligent while being unaware of your surroundings!. It's all about what you choose to pay attention to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a believer in multiple intelligences!. I don't think there is a single type of intelligence!. In this society, people with logical/mathematical or lingual intelligence are the only people that are seen as intelligent!.

Intelligence is anything from your ability to learn something to your ability to process things and use the facts you know!. The amount or type of facts you know isn't what makes you smart, it's what makes you knowledgeable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like to say if it has the likeness to what our culture is like - then intelligence would mean survival in terms of skills like athletic and social and discipline!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

neither, it is the knowing of everything around you, and beyond!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

People have different ways on how they measure intelligence!.

For some its a college degree, and for others it might be common sense!.

Overall, I see what you mean, some of the people with college degrees have an "I know it all" attitude!.

It really is annoying, they act as if someone with less then a college degree wouldn't be able to offer them anything of intellectual substance, but boy are they wrong!.

Someone made fun of me by saying I learned things from youtube, like youtube is a bad place to learn information!.

The nerve of some people I tell ye!Www@QuestionHome@Com

One can roughly assess the intelligence of a 3yr old or an adult after an hour of observation or talking!.Or even the intelligence of a dog or other pets!.

So intelligence is not dependent on facts or learning alone!. The movements, speediness, response/awareness of a person or animal all constitute intelligence!. A person who is knowledgeable in one field, being highly intelligent, may be utterly at a loss when it comes to household chores, shopping or other areas in life!. A maths or piano genius may even get lost in a city or always unable to find his keys or relate to other people!.

So i would agree that Awareness does play a large part in a person's or animal's intelligence!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the idea of your question!. But instead of using words like intelligence and awareness I would have used the word wisdom!. Wisdom for me is how well one applies all he has learned and being aware of how it will benefit someone or himself personally!.

The movie "The Edge" starring Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin is a riveting action movie with this kind of theme!.

Other than that you made a very bright observation of how seeming intelligent people can't comb their own hair yet can cite mathematical equations that even a professor will blush at!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
