No, Blue Coral, I don't believe there truly is a modern utopia!. (Dervish, utopia means "Ideally perfect state; especially in its social and political and moral aspects!.")

People have a way of moving a place out of its ideal state into one far from that utopia!. Louisa May Alcott's father, Bronson, believed a utopian society (Fruitlands, the place was called) could be created but it ended in complete failure!. It seems to me that any time it has been attempted, human nature has always intruded to make it far different than the model for which they were yearning!.

Whether you can find a place close to your ideal or not, depends on your taste!. For me the closest I've ever come is Williamsburg, Virginia!. Why!? Because I love history, and Williamsburg is a place of living history with everything you could want (restaurants, bookstores, shops, museums, plays, etc!.) in a small area!. It's not a utopia, but, if you enjoy history, it's like stepping back in time and allowing present cares to drop away!. That's just me!.

I can only imagine a perfect state - like being alone, but not lonely, in a beautiful and cozy room, ensconced in a comfortable chair, beverage of choice beside me, a favorite book in hand, beautiful music playing softly in the background - but, inevitably, life intrudes and breaks up this nice little scene!.
