Question: Does this really help!?
I have a lot of fear and mistrust and anguish in dealing with people!. I have heard that I can develop detatchment from all these reactions with an 'observing ego'!. Is that true!? Have you experienced this!? What is the best way to develop an 'observing ego!?' I am really tired of suffering so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This reminds me of the Hindu doctrine of the 'dehin', "the one in the body"!. It teaches that behind your conscious self (your ego), there is another person, a divine person, witnessing all you experience!. You should try to observe yourself in action: try to see your actions from the point of view of the spectator instead of the actor: the spectator who sits in the back of your mind, just watching in silence!. All the world is a stage, and we are the players; but for whom are we playing the piece!? Try to just enjoy watching the show instead of focusing on some goal beyond the immediate reality!. Do not cling to the possible fruits of your actions, but just act in the most dignified way you can!. No matter what others may think of you (and remember that you can never really know), the Dehin will appreciate your performance if you act like this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
