That' really depends on your definition of "important"!. It seems that human beings are the only one of the species that considers it an option!.

I am not sure that it is and I dont really have a sense of what the word means to you - Its one of those like 'sophisticated' which is highly elastic!.

For me I like to have goals - and I like to succeed - That whole process of striving and gaining expertise provides some life structure and helps keep depression at bay - I do think however it needed to be tempered with learning things one is not so good at - just for the craic!. to have fun and forget winning and be able to be a fool too is important in a well rounded personality!.
