Your questions should be put in this manner for better clarity::

Does morality exist in human nature or is it learnt from religious books!?
Is religion necessary for morality!?

For the first question, i believe that the average person with a proper upbringing and education should possess the basic ethics and morals!. He could become steeped in philosophy too, to attain these positive values!.

But there are some persons who would lack morals because they are influenced by their family, environment or society!. It is generally believed that all religions teach morality, so it is usually for a pious person who practices his religion seriously, to be an upright person!. However a large number of citizens following a certain religion has questionable moral values!.

For the second question, it would be more appropriate to ask whether morality is necessary for a certain religion, instead of the other way round!. I think that it isn't, as one who lacks morality may soon be influenced to become a changed and upright person once he follows the religion closely!.

It is not necessary for religious books to instil ethics and morality into an individual, as his parents, relatives and teachers can also be a good source of influence!. Many atheists are very moral persons!. :-)))Www@QuestionHome@Com

Morality (from the Latin moralitas "manner, character, proper behavior")!. There is a common morality known and called Law of Human Nature that we all know, but we break it!.
It's not about evil, but it's about right or wrong!. Most of the times we know or we have an idea of what is right in particular situation, but why we chose wrong!? Are we "good" people!? Are we, as people, always "right"!? Most of us, in any given time, at least once, behaved in a very selfish way, driven by our on interests!. So, imagine this: self-centered, selfish, greedy and malicious people, now take morality out of the equation=destruction!.
Yes, there is a lot of good people, but at some point, these people will "break the law"(moral law)!.
And talking about religion: religion is good, but why we have so many!? Because we create religion, humans created!. We are different people, from different nations, but we look for the same thing, something to fit our lifestyle, and that includes religion!. And in this same context, that's why some chose not to have a religion or not to believe in God or a god!.
For me, the biggest illusion for society, is to believe that we can decide what's best for ourselves!.
"First, people reject God; next, they make up their own ideas of what a god should be and do; then they fall into every kind of wickedness: greed, hate, envy, murder, quarrelling, deception, malicious behavior, gossip, etc!. Finally, they grow to hate God and encourage others to do so!. God does not cause this projection toward evil!. Rather, when people reject him, He allows them to live as they choose!.!.!."
Morality can also be seen as the collection of beliefs as to what constitutes a good life!.
But, some people just want to have "a good life", without morality, no regards, no responsibilities!.!.!.usually they get to the end of their lives, full of regrets and lonely!.!.!.
I don't want to have "a good life" and do what feels good, instead I want to do what's right and have a good life!
Hope that helps in any way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

'morality' u cud argue has an evolutionary origin!.!.ie societies in which wholesale murder, theft, lying and cheating predomin8ed would not be socially cohesive and becum extinct!. Religion has subsumed these values and superimposed various arbitrary and ritual values on top (diet, dress, sexual practice for example), possibly to increase social cohesiveness within a group and act as a discimin8r against rival groups!.
I doubt whether we are any more/less moral than 40k yrs ago when there is the first evidence of religious awareness from cave art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Religion is unnecessary for morality!.
All societies had some sort of morality from early times so that people could live in groups without killing each other!.
It's was basically self interest that motivated this!.
If you treated other people well you hoped that they would treat you well!.

Morality is something you either have/follow or you don't!. You simply can't teach it, and that's what religion attempts to do!. If you're a good person, it doesn't matter what your belief system is!. And we all know quite a few immoral religious people, I'm sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Morals are basic human code!. They are innate as well as taught!. Many books teach acceptable behaviour patterns, the religious texts are just some of them!. Bad people are either ill or have been made that way by a society that places greed above "everything" else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can have morals without being religious!. Being athiest doesn't make you an evil person!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
