Arts are media to channel our feelings, and humanists use that channel frequently because there are no better channel to express how human feel than arts ^_~Www@QuestionHome@Com

My guess is that artistic people tend to be more emotional and thus more likely to have feelings of empathy and altruism!. But that doesn't necessarily mean they are more empathetic or more altruistic than others!.

In my opinion, they are simply more sensitive to humanitarian distress, but that doesn't have to translate into the profundity of interest!. After a couple of weeks or months, they may lose interest completely!.

On the other hand, people who are more practically oriented (scientists etc!.!.) may be less observant of the human need around them, but once they do notice, they tend to dedicate themselves more fully to helping others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They likely aren't concerned with the money problems most people have and can take time to focus on art and humanitarian issues!.

Basically!.!.!.they're bored!. Not all of course!.!.!.but that's a pretty solid connection!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It removes the "for art's sake" from the phrase "art for art's sake" and perverts it to mere propaganda!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
