Question: What is the "myth of individualism"!?
I am supposed to write an essay relating to that theme, but I don't really have a clear idea of what it means!. From what I've read online, I understand that it is a capitalistic and humanist idea which defines "individualism", but I still don't get what the "myth" part means!.

Thank you very much for your help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here are some of the definitions of 'myth':
- (in modern literature) a theme or character type embodying an idea, e!.g!. Hemingway's myth of the male hero

- (in philosophy, esp in the writings of Plato) an allegory or parable!.

So I guess you could understand it either as a 'theme of individualism' or as a 'symbol of individualism' depending on what subject you're writing your essay on!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, there is no "Myth" to it!. Individualism is about being who you are, what makes you, you!. if you like to shoot stuff, shoot stuff, if you like to watch porn, do it!. don't let amyone tell you how to be yourself!. thats your job!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i guess the myth part would mean that you have to explore those ideas of individualisms and reason why they are not necessarily true in what they proclaimWww@QuestionHome@Com
