Happy Hiram seems to have coined the loss of freedom well!. It is maybe a testimony of exploitation of a stressed and destabilised peoples need to vent, resulting in much debating, with no conclusive end!. The houses of power feed upon this need of the populace, keeping alive a need!. Simply to profit from it’s feeding, whilst battling between the major institutions of church, state and media!. Church is globally divided by denominations, state battles with its opposition parties who seem to have fused faced with united demagogue and arbiter of all matters judicial that is the media, controlled throughout by a handful of men of no accountability!. Dirty tricks campaigns to undermine as aforementioned all our heroes are destroyed via media scandal if attempting to break this Murdoch’s party led gridlock!. State leaders have been placed and accorded their prime positions by media providence and thereby cannot attack their benefactor!. Media ensures only weak, compliant nominees are elected, causing an abridgment between state and media currently working on a quid pro quo status!. Hell continues !.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In many ways it has expanded, while in others it has been remarkably limited!. With increases in technology being allowed to broaden the scope of free speech and the amount of information reported by the press it is easy to say things to people across the world and express ideas in new ways!. Some statements that would have been heresy or sedition in years past are now commonly accepted, due largely to changes in culture!. Expression is now more generally accepted under free speech, and certain claims made by the press are accepted with lower standards of proof!.

In other aspects free speech is much more limited!. There are time and place restrictions on what you can say in public during demonstrations!. There are times that speech is limited by presenting a clear and present danger!. There are times when you can not reference or build upon a previous work because of unfair copyright laws or software patents!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Um, when the founding father's offered us freedom of speech, it meant freedom to TALK ABOUT STUFF, and when they gave us freedom of the press it meant freedom to WRITE ABOUT STUFF!.

Soon the "press" became an institution, and freedom of the press referred to THEM BEING FREE to write about stuff!.

Now the press is a rubber stamp, and freedom of the press is largely imaginary!. The president and every third CIA agent can listen in to your private conversations and use that information against you!. So freedom of SPEECH has become largely an illusion!.

Luckily we have habeus corpus so you can't get hauled off to jail for no reason -- oh wait, that one is gone too!

Freedom - nonspecific has changed over the years from our having it -- to our NOT!.

And for those who want to blame Reagan, Clinton STARTED it all with his intrusive and illegal laws following Oklahoma City!. Bush may have edged it along further but the democrats approved the Patriot Act too and the DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS expanded the erosion of our civil liberties and Obama has come out in support of (and voted for) more erosion!. No party will GIVE YOU FREEDOM now that you have lost it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The biggest change to free speech lately has been a thing called the internet!. People are freer to express themselves to wider audiences than ever before!. Communication has gotten far easier and much more decentralized!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
