Question: I am ignorant! I was wondering how you can tell if your ignorant or not!? !?

I was told i was ignorant online!. I guess i am!.!.!. i think!. Might as well just die cause im disabled and i don't fit in civilization!. I'm physically weak, and not a genuis!. So im just born into the world to suffer a guess from stupidity and everything else!. I might as well give up!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe it was Plato, Im not sure, who said something to the effect of "If Im wise at all, its only because I know Im not"!. Those are more my words than his, but same general idea!.

If you dont think youre ignorant, then you have no initiative to learn!. Its arrogant, self-righteous, blind, bigoted, etc!. Admitting you are ignorant, at least to yourself, is only step-one at correcting your ignorance!.

Being wise and unbiased enough to see, and admit, that you are ignorant is in fact a virtue!.

Ignorance is defined as "lacking knowledge or awareness of something"!. Im sure you can list hundreds of things that you know that you -dont- know!. And no doubt there are thousands upon thousands of things you -dont- even know that you -dont- know!. The amount of knowledge this universe contains is infinite compared to what all of human knowledge currently contains!.

Whether or not you have "common knowledge" or "street smarts" is an entirely different question!. Whether or not you can pass a high school exam is yet another question!. Not being able to doesnt make you stupid, and being able to doesnt make you smart!.

Stupidity isnt the lacking of knowledge!. Rather, its the incapacity and/or unwillingness to learn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm sorry for the hurt you clearly feel!. But remember that person may have said 'you're ignorant' without really meaning it to the full extent that you have taken it!. It was unkind of him or her certainly!. Sometimes we humans just mess up and don't really mean to destroy someone!.

You say nobody cares and you may as well die!. I can really understand that view and one day I expect I will end it myself!. So I do understand!. But I have also come to realise that while those we know are often indifferent and even cold, you know if you did end it they then would hurt!. People may not seem to care but deep down I think they do!.
I remember last year a person in a local shop whom I hardly knew really, well he commited suicide!. I was so sad!. There are so many people who feel less of themselves because they don't measure up to other peoples' standards of knowledge or whatever!. And why should they feel bad!? Take it easy on yerself bro!. First ask yourself, what is an ignorant person supposed to be!. Just cause you dont know trivial little facts and the history of universe doesnt mean your an idiot!. the difference been ignorance and lack therof is not the difference between person of lots of knowledge and person without!.

it is the difference between person who has a thirst of knowledge, and person that refuses to be willing to learn!. the difference between a person that is searching to be wrong, ready to admit it when the right evidence shows up, and the person that already thinks they are right and are not willing to consider the possibility of being wrong!.

a person can thirst for knowledge, and yet still does not know that much!. and people can think they know alot, but really be ignorant, because what they think they know is not knowledge just what they think!. something they think and are unwilling to change no matter what logic or evidence is shown to them!.

everybody has weaknesses!. everybody has strengths!. everybody has a niche they can fit in!. it suffices to find it!. though granted, sometimes it's not obvious and you need to search hard for it!.

alot of people are ignorant but would never know it, or never notice, and would even call others ignorant!. in fact it is quite common that ignorant people call others ignorant, because they are so sure they are right, and do not even consider the possibility they may be wrong!.

considering you might be ignorant i think is a very unignorant thought to have!.

I don't think I am! While I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, I am intelligent and have a head full of common sense!.
