Yes they do!.

But the funny thing is an experiment which some psychology researchers did with psychiatrists --- who are supposed to be experts on sanity vs!. insanity!.

The researchers recruited pairs of psychiatrists --- both fully qualified and "sane", as well as credentialed psychiatrists!.

Then the researchers told both psychiatrists, individually, that they were about to interview an uncredentialed patient who was not a psychiatrist --- but merely "thought" he or she was a psychiatrist!.

On the basis of their psychiatric interview of this "patient", who had been given a uniform and a badge that said he or she was "Dr!. So and So" (to keep him/her from becoming too agitated on the ward) the researchers would decide whether or not to have this "patient" (who was actually a real "Dr!. So and So; Psychiatrist" and not a patient) committed to the institution to "cure" him/her of his/her delusion!.

Both actual psychiatrists were told the same "patient" story about the other psychiatrist, then both were told to go interview each other as "patients"!. And the more that such actually credentialed psychiatrists interviewed each other --- each supposing that the other guy was an actual "patient" --- the more that each of the real psychiatrists "thought" that each other were "nuts"!.

I guess it was because "patients" are supposed to answer "the doctor's" questions, while doctors are supposed to ask the questions!. So each doctor refused to answer the other doctor's "personal" questions!.

And anybody who only asks questions in answer to questions is considered "nuts" by most sane people!. Hence each pair of actual psychiatrists thought that the other "patient" (actual psychiatrist) was certifiably "crazy"!.

The basic reason why insane people do not acknowledge is that they do not know how to correspond!. As you know they are mostly like illiterates!.
