I am in HR and worked in many different industries so the interview will vary depending on the job you are applying for and at what level!. Judging from your question, I am guessing that you haven't had many job interviews before and generally - practice makes perfect!. But I must admit that I have done many interviews on both sides of the table and I still get nervous before a job interview! It is ok to be nervous!

The best thing is to be truthful in all questions they ask, even if you say that you have never done that task before, or you don't have experience!. Just say that you are a quick learner and happy taking on new tasks and challenges!.

The next best thing is to remember that they want to find out not only if you can do the job, but if you will fit into the team!. State how you have worked in teams before and how you have adapted to different situations!. If they use a behavioural interview method, they will ask you to tell them how you handled different situation and you can then relate it back to your personal and work experiences!.

The most important thing is to stick to the question - don't ramble on!. Be succinct and answer the question!. If you don't understand, ask for clarification (interviewers would prefer that you ask this rather than ramble on about something completely different to what they have asked)!.

Best of luck and I hope that helped a little!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you have time, you can always call the company and ask to speak to the HR person and ask them what questions you should be prepared for!. They may send you some questions in advance so that you can be well-prepared!. It's not an unusual thing to ask!.

Otherwise, do your research on the company - be prepared to answer questions that are technically about the job (like, what experience you have doing a job that is like this one, etc) as well as questions about you (what makes you a good "cashier" or "nurse" or "technologist" or whatever) and "why do you want this job"!?

Bottom line - be yourself!. If you can make a little joke, do so!. Just be you!. And if they ask you a question that you can't answer - ask them if they can rephrase the question!. Just have a nice conversation and you will do fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They might ask you about your strengths, (& your weaknesses) i!.e!., what are your best qualities vs!. what you need to work on!. What you might do in a certain situation!. Where you'd like to be in 5 years!. Why do you want to work for this particular company!? Be prepared for an interviewer to "throw the ball into your park!." Always dress well (a well-fitted suit is a must, for men & women)!.!.!.but you already know that!. Dress for the position (or higher) than you are applying for!. Smile when you greet the interviewer as you extend your hand to shake & make eye contact!. Show confidence, but do not overshadow your interviewer by too much eye contact!. Let him or her run the interview!. Appear at ease & answer the questions with confidence & poise!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is also important to ask question of your own in an interview because it shows initiative and confidence!.
also make eye contact and speak clearly and directly!.
Some questions I usaully ask are!.!.!.
What will my starting wage be!?
Is there an opportunity to advance in position and pay!?

Go into the interview with the attitude that you already have the job and a strong finish I always like to use is!.!.!.!.!.
Great when do I start!? as I shake hands at the end of the interview!.

It is very simple!.

They test your presence of mind!.

They test your ability!.

They test your maturity of mind!.

They test as to how you are handling the situation without exertion!.

They test your composure!.

That is all!.

You are through!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well from my experience if it's for a retail job they will ask you a lot of questions and many are very similar to some others they ask!. So it can get frustrating and annoying!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
