No! "Manner" is a relative word-----my (our) mannerism might not fit with yours!. I've seen (read: experienced) so many mannerisms that are man-made or a particular society-product! It's not necessary to follow that manners by all!. Probably we do have manners too, made by our men!
It's better to use the word "behavior"------and this word includes many many more qualities that enriched civilization or perhaps increased the speed of civilization towards a day-to-day development!. (Civilization, I'm talking about, is not that Greek or Egyptian etc---rather civic sense related something!. I've met persons with good manners from an uncivilized class!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, manners are necessary for civilization, as they are mentioned in both of the above definitions!. My own definition of civilization!? Everything that the definitions mentions, especially comfort (contented well-being)!.

Yes of course manners are necessary for civilization!. If every one will behave in an unruly manner then then where will the word CIVILIZATION stand!. Civilized people will definitely have respect for one another, they will not break the communitiy guidelines they will not do or say anything that will hurt others!. Civilised people will always follow the rules laid down by the goverment and not say that rules are meant to be broken!. They will try to keep their city clean and when in a jam will not block the road from all the sides so that the traffic from the other side gets blocked!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
