Question: Are undemocratic regimes anti-philosophical!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Not really since many undemocratic regimes were founded on certain philosophies!. However, since the advent of modernity, during the French revolution, democratic regimes have believed in the Enlightenment philosophy of universal rationality expressed via the vote!. Undemocratic regimes have rejected this Enlightenment notion, which makes those regimes seem anti-philosophical!. They are actually anti-enlightenment not anti-philosophical (however, some really are anti-philosophical)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Philosophy is an area of inquiry, not a specific viewpoint!. As such, no, undemocratic regimes are not "anti-philosophical" because there is no such thing!. Plenty of philosophers have put forth proposals for systems of government that are absolutely not democratic!. Nietzsche, one of the greats, is AGAINST democracy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Every political belief has a philosophy and undemocratic regimes have just as resounding philosophies as democratic regimes do!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
