I am only hearing one side of the debate!. The only reason against it I have heard is that it cheapens marriage!. That allowing same sex marriage somehow changes what a husband and wife have!. I would like to know more!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't believe that gays would suffer the indignity of making a fuss about this; who cares!? All people aren't equal!. Sorry!. Just because we live in an age of excessive pandering to minority groups in no way justifies making this concession!. Marriage has quite the tradition of being shared between a man and a woman!. What's more, it has its roots in religion!. I'm all for civil unions, for gay couples to be treated (from a legal standpoint) in exactly the same manner as married couples!. And that ought to be enough!. I feel as though this whole issue stems from this outrageous sense of entitlement that is, inherently american!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here is the definition of marriage in the dictionary:

MARRIAGE:
The state of being united to a person of the opposite sex as husband or wife in a consensual and contractual relationship recognized by law; the state of being united to a person of the same sex in a relationship like that of a traditional marriage; the mutual relation of married persons: wedlock; the institution whereby individuals are joined in a marriage; an act of marrying or the rite by which the married status is effected; the wedding ceremony and attendant festivities or formalities; an intimate or close union!.

Same sex marriage is defined in the dictionary as a type of marriage!. It is considered a "lawful" practice now in many parts of the US and Canada!. In the Bible, it is defined this way:

"We know that the law is good if one uses it properly!. We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers!." (1 Timothy 1:8-10)

Regardless of our personal views on this subject, God states very clearly that homosexuality is for the ungodly!. I believe the reason is because when humans were created, God made 'Adam and Eve', not 'Adam and Steve'!. This was because God wanted man and woman to reproduce!. Homosexuals, whether married or not, cannot do so!.

I am a child of God!. Therefore, my viewpoint is whatever God's is!. Simple!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

So!? Slavery was "tradition" too!. In "America" individuals deserve equal civil liberties!.

Cheapens marriage!? Is that suppose to mean that husbands and wives have stronger connections than same-sex couples!?

Not allowing same-sex marriage is inequality!. If you don't like it, don't do it!. But don't let religious beliefs impose on the civil liberties of others!.

I suppose if you have the same sex bringing up children, eventually family will disappear!. In the end the only way to have children will be from someone elses sperm, therefore we may all end up related and incest will be the norm - kinda makes you sick!. More reasons are of course in the bible!. As I am a christian I believe the bible!. It is in Romans and Leviticus!. You can read it there!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
