I like to drawing, but I know music has a more powerful effect on me than drawings or paintings do!. So in relation to my question I will add that maybe it is individual as to which of these two art forms is more powerful in its effects!? It seems maybe that Painting and Drawing is more intellectual, where Music is more emotional in relation to the viewer\listener!? English not my 'mother' tongue!. Certainly hearing music is a more passive form of interaction than actively looking at paintings or drawings, but the experiences can have equal immediate emotional value to the listener/watcher!. Some pieces of music I find wonderful, others leave me completely unmoved--the same with pictorial art!. Some music, like some artworks, require more intellectual effort to appreciate!. I do not know how 'powerful' paintings and drawings are in comparison to the viewer, as music is to its listeners!. Paintings and drawings are pleasing to me personally and beautiful artwork is a personal choice to me!. I also enjoy music very much!. It does not have so-called 'power' over me, however, it does make me feel good as long as I am listening to music that I like only!. Any old music just won't do!. I am specific about it, as I am about artwork!. In other words, I like what I like!. We are all unique in our choices!. Interesting question!. Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I agree with the comment above!. A drawing or a painting of the horrors of 911 will work differently on individuals or a picture of the Holocaust!. Or even someone viewing nude art or even something that has such dramatics as such high contrasts!. Some paintings just sort of take my breath away just as music does!. Some people have a more powerful effect from certain song or music than others!. It moves people differently!. For some it might just be the words more than the melody!. In a painting it could be the colors more than the subject matter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com well that depends on the individual drawing and the individual viewing!. different people take things in differently, so i would say that a more intellectual person would take in that powerfulness as most take in music, but you have to remember that pretty much everybody can emotionally relate to something, which makes music have the more powerful effect!.
