Because in the future may have the answers in a technical way, but we are not be around to know , because naturally will be dead! Do you think that if philosophy and science work together we can have faster and more accurate results and answers, for our existence, life, nature, God, etc!.!.!.!. Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: When it comes to discovering a truth(scientific or not), you cant really seperate philosophy and science(except metaphysics!.!.!.at least thats what i think)!. Philosophy is simply an art of thinking, although nowadays people seem to think philosophy and science are two very different things!. Philosophy: The rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct!. Science can be verified, philosophy cant be verified!. This is the major difference that cause people to think philosophy and science are two entirely different things!. Although philosophy tend to be more flexible, it is inaccurate, meaning, because it cannot be verified(ontology, natural theology, etc), there are no "real" answer and people therefore have differing opinions on most metaphysical things you suggested!. What you are suggesting is applying science to metaphysics!. Metaphysics is investigating principles of reality that trascends physics!. Life, existence, god, etc are metaphysical things, therefore it cannot be investigated with science, but philosophy alone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Knowledge and discovery always bring more questions than answers!. That is a philosophical insight!. It may not answer "why we exist" and I am not sure that is a meaningful question!. That we exist to BE is not an answer, but a reality!. Science cannot really supply motivations for life, just information!. You are saying in effect "Someday hammers will be able to screw nails in but until them we'll have to use butter knives to do it!." Philosophy is not the search for meaning, science is not the search for meaning!. Science may answer how something works, and philosophy may answer why something works, but neither one can tell you why it SHOULD work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com the question isn't very clear, but i think i got the main idea!. and no, i believe that religion has helped shaped our civilisation, and now science will answer the questions!. the human race is too smart to accept religion any more, and it is time to stop believing that we are being watched by an almighty creator!. the proof is there!. if we stop believing religion, and following science, then we will be able to become closer as a planet!. if we have science, and religion, the two will contradict each other, and if we have just religion, we will never be able to reach our full potential!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
