Question: What is the first step to learning anything!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Buddhists would contend that the first step to learning anything would be to first accept that you know nothing about it!.

Personally, i would contend that the first step to learning anything is to figure out precisely what it's existence in reality means!.

The two are actually the same, ironically!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Experience everything!!

As humans we learn from experience, then by internalizing and interpreting and defining that experience!. Over time we build a comprehensive internal library which allows us to learn new things simply by knowing that it is something that we have not yet experienced!.

The fact that we are learning something implies that it is something that is new to us,something different!. So if we know nothing about it we start to learn the moment we begin to makes comparisons between the new event, object, language etc and other familiar events, objects, and languages that we already have experience with!.

So, I suppose to answer your question the first step to learning anything is acknowledging that "something" is new then comparing it to all the other "somethings", you already know and understand!.!.and that is learning!.!.!.!. philosophically speaking of course!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

- have a purpose on why you want to learn it

- imagine how will the knowledge affect your life after you have learnt it eg!. becoming a more useful person, sense of achievement, feel proud, beneffiting others not only you, create opportunities !.!.etc

- be aware of the challenges in learning it and be prepared for that eg!. emotional, physical, mentally, spiritually
- identify what is the best learning method for you eg!. repetition, read out, draw, write notes!.!.!.etc

- set time & flexible on how long you want to learn

- Dont doubt in yourself, believe that you are able to learn it!. Do not fear that you will not be able to learn, understand or memorise it because that everyone CAN so long as we have the brain, will power, energy and time!.

Don't be pressurised !

Dear Questioner,

Thank-

Mme Param,

When I asked my turbulent young son what connection there might be between 'respect' and the ability to learn things, he answered with the same insolence that had always blocked & crippled him!. There was no connection, he said, except for some obnoxious lesson I was probably going to dump all over him!.

A few years later, I heard him advising someone to keep his ears open around so-and-so, because so-and-so knew where it's at!.!.!. he of all people was counselling respect to enable his friend's learning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
