Question: What makes us more unique as individuals!.!.!. our thoughts or our feelings!.!.!.!?
I mean!.!.!. given the fact that our ideas can be shared, stolen, put into words and borrowed by others, etc!., are our feelings the only ones which make us really unique, noninterchangeable as selves!? and if that's true, if our feelings define us in such a way that they make us become so different, so alone in the world while facing them, does that mean that in happiness, suffering, love, hate!.!.!. we are in fact always egocentric, always selfish in the difference they create for us!.!.!. inside us!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ah, grasshopper -are our thoughts not a manifestation of our feelings!? Do you think that our thoughts can be shared, but that our feelings cannot be!? Though we are capable of putting forth ideas which do not reflect our true feelings, they are not really our own thoughts until they are so reflective!. One can borrow/adopt the ideas of others -but in doing so he must also borrow/adopt the feelings inherent in those beliefs (or else they cannot truly become his thoughts/ideas)!. In one sense we all tend toward egocentric, because the composition/totality of our thoughts and feelings is uniquely our own -but none of us can be so egocentric that we fail to share any of our thoughts/feelings!. I'm not just playing devil's advocate here!.!.!.!.or am I!? In any event, it's really good to see you here again (I've missed you, and I'm sure that I'm not unique in that feeling)!. We are all made up of different "voices" in our lives, yet what comes to the surface as our "soul" is the medley that produces our own signature!.!.!.watch the drummer in this video, the fire scene in the background, the violinist, her hair that sways, and the singer that lends sweetness to the ear!. Is this not a wonderful example of how similarities can mesh into a different Kaleidoscope of self!? To answer your question, is it our thoughts or our feelings that make us unique as individuals, well, my friend, it's both, floating on the breeze of harmony!.

You are a voice unto yourself and "my" voice is happy to hear from you :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Our thoughts, and our feelings, make us unique, as individuals~~
They definitely don't have to make us so alone in the world, and they don't have to cause suffering, or hate!!
I am not one of the ego~~nor am I ever selfish, with anything~~
I am thankful for this opportunity in Life, and I see the good in the world, instead of dwelling on the things, that I don't admire, such as war, and greed, and everything that goes with them!!
This is supposed to be a very magical experience, this journey we are on, and Love is reflected in Love~~~ agoodgirlWww@QuestionHome@Com

Our Character makes us so different than others!.
Our character is the key!.
We think differently, feel differently, want different things!.

It is not necessary that what we think or feel is unique, because others ight feel the same way too!
Feelings are controlled by our thoughts!.
We feel what we think!.
For example, a person who is close to you dies today, and the person you just met yesterday also dies today!.
You feel sad because the person who was very close to you has passed away!.
That person will be on your mind!.!.!.not the acquaintance!

The same way, the person you have met yesterday is close to someone else!.
That individual will grieve for that person!.!.!.not for your relative!.

Will you feel the same way for both!?
No!.
It's the thought that bothers you!. The thought that lets you know a part of your life is lost!.!.!.someone you cared for is gone!. Someone who made you happy is gone!.

That's vice-versa for the other individual!.

So you see, the feelings and thoughts are for different persons, but they are very similar!. Not unique!

Now what if, you were a hateful person!?
It wouldn't have bothered you if the either person died!.
It wouldn't have affected you much!.
Now that's Character's role!.

our character is unique, that makes you think differently and feel differently!.

Everyone has a unique character!.
Yes, there are similarities, but not everyone is same!.
You and your sibling are from the same family, might share the same DNA!.
Looks might be similar too, but not necessary that both of you will have the same character!.
I am the quiet one, and my brother is the naughty one!.

Character also has an influence on your personality!.
Character encourages you to behave in a particular way!.

Thoughts and feelings are a part of your character!.

So, it's your character that makes you so different and unique!.

*Best Wishes*

both can truly make us unique!. feelings are said to be "entry points" to one's self!. but the thoughts, on the other hand, are what come from one's very own mind(the mind which is never physical!.!. as people often confuse it with the brain)!.

the thoughts can manipulate feelings!.!. the feelings can affect the thoughts, but can never manipulate them no matter how great that feeling is!.

as I personally believe, our feelings may only be coming from our physical makeup!. but our thoughts may be from more than our physical selves!.

so, therefore, I would vote the thoughts as an answer to this question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hello Miss Grasshopper!! So happy to see you here again, even with one !.!.!. lonely question - which is not your usual!!! xx

My think that it is our feelings that make us more unique as individuals!. Not that Thoughts do not, but Feelings are more powerful as being more!.!.!."raw"!. Thoughts, can be "educated"!. We can educate in a way our Mind , through Study, through Experience, on how to think to our benefit!. But, the Feelings, just rush in, without us being able to control them that much!. We almost instinctively and before having the time to Think, we Feel!! So maybe Feeling is closer to our prime self!.

hmmm!.!.!. I think I am just describing myself now!!! hahahahhaaha

That's what I think & feel about thoughts & feelings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes, i think you right we are ego-driven organisms!. our feelings belong to us alone and it's only on rare occasions or with the right people that we can truly share them!. but to be honest i think ideas are what define us most of all!. it doesn't matter that they are made of bits and pieces of other peoples ideas which they stole from their mates!. nothing lives in causal isolation so ideas evolve they don't just happen, however it is these beliefs that define us!. somtimes it becomes so tough for us to diffrenciate b/w our fealings and thoughts!. its somthin lke distingiushing between religon and sprituality ,tough for us !. but when ever v analyse the situation on broader contaxt , leaving our own gud and bad experences behind v find tht fealings are temperoray while thoughts are permanant!.
the things which really distinguisg us frm others is our thoughts not the fealings , fealings creates in a second n also vanishes in a neno second ,whnever v go in bar n v feal nice whn the waiter makes proper pegs and exact amount of ice which v took , v feal happy n gic him tip , ths is our fealing , comes at tht time !. v giv him tip tht time it doesnt means tht ths is our thougt huever comes across us v giv him money , so wht i waana say is the thing which is more base prrof n which makes us unique is our thoughts!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
as far as ideas can bestolen but noone is able to steel our ideology, so dont woory about those theives ,is v r diffrent thn others , its obivious v r alone but if v r alone it doesnt implys tht v r wrong , dear for becomin unique u need to be strong, may be at som atage u realli find ur self alone but tht is the real test of thecharacter tht u deserves to be unique or not!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

G Since we are both unique and collective, the uniqueness blends into the fields created by others and history!. Other than that, the thoughts and emotions are not separate from each other any more than from the body, or the body's environment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mind is the MIRROR coated with mercury(that is ego)!.

So we see everything in the MIRROR!.

If you remove that coating(ego) then it becomes PURE GLASS!.

Now you can SEE the people, thoughts and feelings all OUTSIDE there!

i think its d way we think dat makes all d diff!.!.!.!.cuz we all share common emotions!.!.!.its jus how u luk at things =/Www@QuestionHome@Com

Truly our feelings are, of course, unique to our being; however since we all have the same basic physical processing of emotions we all share a commonality!. This commonality is the beginning of all human-to-human communication, which is why when we watch an actor we experience expected emotions!. My feelings are my own but the sharing of emotions is always the beginning of friendship, love, etc!. In other words, my feelings can be transferred, borrowed and shared because of our physical commonality!.

Based on the above, I would say our feelings are no more unique than our thoughts!. We can share feelings as much as we can share thoughts and seeing how many documentaries are made compared to fictional movies we can say feelings are more easily shared!. Of course, when I experience my feelings they are unique to me at that time but they are not unique in a universal sense!. We all experience love, hate, desire, etc!., unless something is wrong in our physical and/or psychology processing!.

Your feeling of being in love is unique to you at the time you have it but it is not universally unique, which is a good thing otherwise you would be very lonely when you're in love!. Most thoughts are not unique as we all know but some people have had truly unique thoughts!. When Einstein thought of e=mc for the first time it was truly just his unique thought!. When Stephen King writes a story his creation of that story was unique to him!. Uniqueness is always found around the truly unique thought(s)!.

Notice all the people in history that are famous for the unique way they thought!. Plato, Aristotle, Einstein, Marx (Karl & the Marx brothers), Kant, Hegel, Mozart, Rand, Twain, Shakespeare, etc!., were unique for the way they thought!. In the end, maybe, uniqueness is founded on the unique experiences we separately all have but is always expressed by the creative way we think!.
Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is really a good question! I enjoy questions that make me think!. This one even has me changing my mind as I think it through and read some of the other answers!
I've thought about both sides of the question, and IMO I'm not sure that our thoughts or emotions make us all that unique!. When I really, really think about it, doesn't everyone have the same range of emotions!? It's part of what makes us human!. While one person may hate more intensely, most people can empathize with the feeling!. It's the same with love, jealousy, fear, etc, isn't it!? The person truly unable to love is rare, but there are more than one of those in the world too!. Maybe degree of emotion makes for differences, yet can't the average person love on the same level as another person!?
As far as thoughts, even when one develops an opinion without any outside influence, it's a sure bet that it's shared by others, either from their own devices, or via outside influences!. For example, if I think an automobile is a good value based upon it attributes, there are certainly others who would agree with me because of public opinion, news, reports, their own mind, etc!. Conversely, others are bound to disagree!.
also, the vast majority of opinions are usually narrowed to three positions: I agree, disagree, or don't know!.
I truly believe that as humans, we aren't all that different or unique!. The one thing that does set us apart is our appearance!. That would seem to make us unique!.
When we look down ad see an ant colony, we probably think they are are pretty much the same!. I wonder if the same would be said of us when peered down upon!?
Perhaps it is some other element that could contribute to uniqueness: genetic makeup!.!.!.or maybe as a human race we truly aren't unique other than the fact that we all own one body, one mind and one soul!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
