It is rational to believe in God when the answer you are looking for is beyond your reach!. It is rational not to believe in God when you have answered the questions that you attributed to there being a God in the first place!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I personally think the same!. Pascals Wager is a valid logical argument!. Even in todays world we use arguments similar to this in many aspects of society, be it in warfare, economics, gambling games!.!.!. and it has mathematical and logical foundations!. Its called Game Theory in math, and is a basis for valid decision making strategies!. Weighing probabilities of win/loss with the risks associated with them!. I firmly believe that Pascals Wager is a perfectly valid argument for why one should believe in God!. Furthermore, I think it ought to reinforce preexisting belief!.

However, I do not think its a valid reason to start believing!. Even in theism and Christianity specifically, God does not want false faith!.!.!. forced and fear-instilled!. That is not faith, but intimidation!.

So even thought I think Pascals Wager is a logically valid argument, I do not think its a good source of true faith worthy of Gods ear!. And Im sure Pascals realized that!. Unlike the modern day atheists that criticize Pascals wager for being "illogical"Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from a religious conviction" -Pascal-

It would seem that Blaise Pascal who has many famous quotes, was a mathematician and philosopher who really couldn't make up his mind!. The above is a truism, and we can see that today in the fundamentalist groups!. Then there's Pascals Wager!. He was complex, and possibly tortured man!.
I can relate to him!.

Be well all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pascal's wager falls because belief is not a choice!. It is the result of life and learning!. So to 'choose to believe in a god because it is the most to gain' just is nonsense!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
