Question: What do you think about my take on abortion!?
I don't think it's murder at all!. I don't see how a mass of cells can even be considered "human"!. I think that an embryo becomes "human" after it becomes conscious of its own existence!. Which is in the third trimester anyway!. So "murder" is illegal under current abortion laws!.
I think until it comes sentient then it's just another mass of cells that the body produces!. Albeit, more complicated, but that doesn't change the fact!.
Plus this isn't even touching the women's right over her own body!.
I just don't think that YOUR religious beliefs should infringe upon the personal liberties of others!. If you don't like it and disagree, don't do it, that's fine!.
Just don't try to take away the freedom from other women to make their own choices!.

I have an autistic brother, and my family has always been very liberal and pro-choice!. I once asked my mother if, if she had known about his life crippling autistm before he was born (within the acceptable tiem frame for abortion) whether she would have had one or not!. she said yes!.
The point is, before she grew emotionally attatched to Josh, and before she was able to give him that complete and utter unconditional love (at birth, methinks), the utilitariastic POV would argue that eprhaps actually, the kindest course of action would be to abort the foetus (kinder for foetus, kinder for parents, kinder for state, even, possibly)!. Whereas now, she would kill FOR him - for both of us!.
Abortion is not wrong, because a foetus is not a 'human' - yes, it mgiht be a living being, but it relies solely on one other person for life, andf therefore it cannot be considered to have a full and independent life of its own!. Animals are living beings, but we accept their are major differences between human and animals !.!.!. I really don't understand how anyone can force their views upon someone else !.!.!. if YOU personally don't agree with abortion, then DON'T have one !.!.!.but don't tell others not to, and don't judge them!. To try to help you out with your argument, though: you can acknowledge that the mass of cells is human, since there is a large gray area between mass of cells and human being!. There isn't a well defined category that people agree upon!. The thing that we should be arguing about isn't whether the cells are human - they are, in a biological sense, a human individual!. (So is an egg or sperm, just in a different phase of the life cycle) It's about whether a *human embryo* is entitled to rights that actually trump the rights of its mother, who is a full fledged sentient citizen, upon whose body and decisions it must to some extent depend, even beyond the time it becomes sentient!. And presumably, nobody loves you like your own mother - certainly not the state who would guarantee your birth by coercing her!.
The fetal murder position is radical!. Human societies don't base their laws on the radical idea that fetuses have rights!. It's absurd!. Life biologically begins at conception, but for ethical purposes it has to be at birth!. As you say, sometimes you gotta - it's between a woman and the god who gave her the responsibility!. It's not selfish to get an abortion, it's selfish to tell others not to get one!. If you have a baby, maybe you just made a stupid mistake in highschool, and you're not ready for this kid, you have a career ahead of you, then you should be able to get an abortion!. Women risk their health, education, and even their lives by staying pregnant!. Worst case!.
What if they were raped!? Do you really want to get all selfish about some fetus that has no conscious mind yet, and say that they should endure 9 months of that!? They never had any choice in the matter!. They never even asked for this, so it's not their fault in any way, and should have every right in the world to get rid of it!.
Fetus' aren't alive, and you can't argue that!. They do not have a conscious mind, with a working system of organs!. I am an atheist, so religion doesn't always have something to do with NOT wanting to destroy life!.
I had a friend who waited to have kids!. When she began trying, I was one of the first she told!. Well, she thought it would take a long time!. It took about three months! Once the process began, I will never forget how blown away she was by how much of a miracle getting pregnant is!. (Those were her words!. And no, I am not trying to be mushy)
It takes the right body temperature to conceive, there are certain amounts of days after and before your period that need to be available, MILLIONS of sperm chasing down ONE single egg that may or may NOT be there!.!.!. Then you have 9 months of gestation where ANYTHING can go wrong!. A woman can lift her arms wrong and the baby could be still born!. The baby can start being born and NOT turn around as it should!. It could stop breathing or be born early and under weight!. And I won't bother to go into how things can be as a child!
To destroy something that works so hard to be born is wrong on spiritual and moral levels!. We shouldn't do it because if we value life as we always say, we wouldn't have abortions!. If we weren't meant to be here, believe me, mother nature would accommodate!.

Although I do not want to criminalize abortion, I do think that there are better ways to deal with unwanted pregnancies!.!.!. the best being use available birth control!. As a woman who has had 2 children let me tell you, you know that child is alive well before the 30th week!. I recognize abortion as something that we must accept, but I get very frustrated with those IDIOTS out there who should know better and still get pregnant!. Go have it, support other people financially to have them if you must, but I do not want to be paying for it!. Id also like to point out that the "my body, my choice" is a BS position to hold!. Why!? Because a woman isnt killing her body, she is killing another beings body!. She has no rights to the body of a separate person who happens to be inside her!. If she wanted to kill herself, that would be her choice!. Its her choice to murder her neighbor, too, but that doesnt make it right!.

Well, one point to be made is that sentience and consciousness aren't always taken to mean the same thing!. 'Sentience' suggests that a being has feeling, but 'consciousness' suggests that a being is self-aware!. Humans kill all sorts of sentient beings everyday and very few of us think twice!.
It seems that, ultimately, what really matters in deciding one's position on abortion is what one believes about the fetus!. Those who believe it has a special moral status will believe it is wrong, and those who don't will see abortion as less problematic!.
There is no settling this debate just as there is no settling the beef between vegans and meat eaters!. Do animals have special moral status like humans!? Very similar debate!. also, does the bible have special moral status!? Again, the answer must depend on the attitude of the person answering!. This is why we will never agree!.!.!.at least not as long as we disagree about certain fundamental assumptions regarding our world!.

You need to understand that abortion is considered killing because as soon as the egg and sperm meet, a life grows!. Sometimes, things go awry and the baby dies but thats just nature!.
People with different religions have different views on the subject and you cant say that theyre wrong with disagreeing with you!.
