Question: Is it important to find something you're extremely good at in life !?
or can one enjoy life to the max and feel happy regardless of being the jack of all trades and master of none !?

Like, to be above average in a trade or profession is quite satisfying I would imagine, be it an investment banker, a computer consultant, a Veterinarian, a plumbler or even a lorry driver!.

What if you live life well into your 60s having not quite figured out, what it was that you were mean't to be 'good at' !?

Waste of a life !? Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is even more important to expect that you will be good at something and this is summed up as 'self esteem'!. It is a tragedy that so many parents do not bring up children to have much self esteem and so we have a Nation of under achievers!.
Much of to days problems stems from underachievers and even affected dress and bodily ornamentation with much of antisocial behaviour to cover an inferiority complex!.
Happy the person who finds out what he/she is good at!.

To be good at something implies a measure of 'success' at doing or achieving something and is generally related to materialistic rewards or honours!.
However, a truly successful life, rather than a successful career, has its rewards in the beneficial effects it has on others!. To simply make other people happy is a great achievement in itself and we all possess the talent to do that!.
When you reflect back on your life I am sure you will find many instances when you were really good at helping others!.!.!. and looking forward there will be many more opportunities to be a 'success'!.
Sometimes we confuse our criteria but a little love makes everything seem better and life more worthwhile!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I believe that leonardo carried the mona lisa around from job to job for over twenty years, never giving it to the patron who commissioned it!.Probably thought it wasn't quite finished yet!.Now it hangs in the louvre!.Now if he wasn't a master I don't know who is!.Be content,if that's your wish!.I remember the death of an old joiner I knew, same job, same firm for his entire life!.that appalled me back then, now I don't know, maybe he had it right after all!.I don't know what i want to be when i grow up,Why do I have to!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not as important as people make you believe it is!.

I still don't know what I want to do and I've stressed over it before and really it's not worth it!. As long as you can go through life feeling content and happy with what you've got, who gives a sh!t if you're an Investment Banker or a shop assistant!?!!

What other people think doesn't matter!. Just be happy, that's the most important thing I reckon!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

just because one is good at something, it doesn't mean they enjoy it!

"What if you live life well into your 60s having not quite figured out, what it was that you were mean't to be 'good at' !?

Waste of a life !?"

no, not a waste, like Randal Graves said in clerks II "some day I wil leave my mark, but until then, every thing I do is NOT a complete waste if time, it's all building towards something!."Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. What you are 'good at' may not be a good thing, or something that you can apply in a useful way!.

So I don't think its a case of being good at something, just a case of being good enough, and good morally (as in not committing crime or doing bad things)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anything that we do well boosts our self-esteem and makes us feel better about ourselves!. So, yes, it is important to find something you do well, whether it's a sport or game or even your profession!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's no such thing as someone who's no good at anything!. You are focussed entirely to much on the work life!. Millions of people live full, satisfying lives without ever giving a thought to their job!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some of the people I knew at 22 didn't know what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the MOST interesting 40yo's still don't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
