Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Plato was an idealist and dualist!.
His metaphysical philosophy maintained that physical reality is but a shadow of pure forms and substance!.
Oddly his work contributed a great deal to christianity in terms of metaphysical speculation regarding dual nature of bodies and spirits!.

It's impossible to say we don't really exist, because none of us would be, and therefore couldn't ask questions on yahoo! answers!.
You might be talking about Plato's theory of forms!. He says that the material world is a copy or shadow of another more perfect world; a world that doesn't need matter!. In a way he is saying that we 'are' less!.
Descartes also spoke of a reality in which nothing is as we perceive it because there is a being that tricks us!.
I can't think of anyone who said we really don't exist!. It definitely was not Socrates, Plato or Aristotle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Another way to pose this problem is that we cannot "prove" that you exist!. Similarly you cannot prove that a highly sophisicted computer (perhaps in the distant future) capable thinking like human is conscious!. Part of the difficulty is the question of what is conscioulness and can we know anything other than our own internal experience!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read about George Berkely's Philosophy, I did a report on him and he's theory about idealism is quite interesting!. Moreover, I think, you believing in God, would agree in his propositions!. I hope you're really into finding an answer to this question!Www@QuestionHome@Com

"no one really exist" is a theory that every thing here in this planet has a good reason to be here!. that it has a purpose of its existence, meaning they are living for a reason and just doesn't exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe you should study more so you can distinguish between 3 great thinkers!. Yes, they were pupils of one another, but they still had different beliefs about many things!. Don't lump them together!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
