Hi Jovita
You ask questions rarely , but for sure you ask the best!. Good question again !.Do the destiny determines our life !? well It would seem legitimate that we ask ourselves about our future, about what we are going to make of our life!. Some people turn to astrology, fortune telling/clairvoyance, or numerology, etc, to find answers to pressing situations or as an antidote against fear of the future!. Although these practices are beliefs more or less based on scientific data, they interpret the facts in a very irrational way!.
What could be more natural than to ponder over our future!? But can the fear of tomorrow justify the renouncement of our freedom!? Through fortune-telling, we hand over the freedom to decide for our own lives to someone else!. Even though we know how we don't like to let ourselves be influenced by others, we are frightened of uncertainty, of the unknown!. But instead of inventing our own security, shouldn't we be looking further and searching to understand better where our security truly lies!? If we don't know why we were made, then it is no wonder we are afraid of tomorrow!. 'And i am not afraid of my tomorrow '

Thanks for reading !.

In western philosophy destiny is fixed and nothing can change it, from the Buddhist perspective, a person's destiny can always be altered by their practice of the correct teaching!.!.!. In the case of King Ajatashatru, who was destined to die on a specific day, through meeting the Buddha and taking faith in his teachings, he was able to recover from his illness, overcome the burden of his heart (he had caused the death of his father) and prolong his life!.!.!. This principle reminds us that simply knowing the causes of our suffering is not enough to relieve the suffering!.!.!. In some cases, it may even increase it!.!.!. It is only our action to create new, positive causes that will relieve the suffering!.!.!. It is obvious that if we can alter immutable karma and prolong a fixed span of life, then we can also readily transform any other karma and lead a happy and fulfilling life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

According to my experience every thing that happens in our lives is predetermined!. It does not mean that one should sit idle and wait for the future!.
We have to plan and work hard to mold our future life in a Better way!.Even then some times we feel ,'man proposes and God disposes!.'
At other times we are pleasantly surprised to get unexpected success!.It shows that we are not completely responsible for what ever happens in our life and some thing called 'destiny' plays a major role in our life !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't like the word destiny!. If life was predetermined for me, then why am I here living it!? I could just as easily move into a cave and things would happen for me - my true love would fall into my cave!. Food would be delivered to my cave!. Someone would give me money for yelling, "Echo," all day!.

Everything in life revolves around cause and effect!. I wasn't ready to sit in a classroom and learn when I was little!. I ended up going to my third choice for high school as a result of my childhood!. Because I didn't go to a better high school, I ended up not going to a better college!. Because my college was sub-par, I work in retail!. Because I work in retail I have no holidays to spend with my family!. Because I have no holidays to spend with them, I'm a happy person!. Weird how that works out!.!.!.

The point is this - had I worked hard, done all the right things, gone to a good school, I would not be in retail and I would have time off to spend with my relatives and I may not be as happy!.

Am I destined to work in retail - I hope not!. I'm trying to save up money so that I can go back to school and get my MBA!. These are choices that I made whether cognitive of them or not!. When you are five, you don't realize how important school and fitting in is!. When you are eighteen, you realize you're kind of screwed!. When you're twenty-two and looking for that career, you realize you've got nothing!. When you're thirty and a buyer for a retailer, you think to yourself, there's gotta be more!.

If there is a predetermined path, I better be a lotto winner - lol!!

I think determinism (which is basically a theory that everything follows a chain of events) is a convincing theory as it seems quite logical!. If the theory of determinism were true, then our destiny would be determined long before our birth!. There are however theories against this, so no one can be fully sure!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think we are responsible for our lives!. Even if we can't control everything about it!.

Destiny is a strange word!.!.!.!.because it's the idea that we are not in control of anything!. How boring is that!?

Let's pretend for a moment that Bill Gates likes women and has twins of whom are separated at birth for one reason or another!. How greatly will these twins lives differ!. Probably quite a bit!.!.!.and they are basically the same person!.

I'll stop, I'm rambling!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This may not be one of those "either/or" situations where there's just one answer!. I think that we have free will, and that means that we get to make all kinds of decisions about life, including whether or not we think God exists!. Within that free will framework, we do come into the world with a genetic make-up that determines a lot of things, including much of our physical appearance!. All things considered, I still think that our free will determines the kinds of people we are and how we choose to live our lives!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

destiny

we have no idea that a greater power could most likely exist the only thing we have explored is mars not even close to the the edge of the universe we could be a game with a controller on a computer game

they thought the big bang created the universe where did the big star come from!? you see what im saying we dont know ANYTHINGWww@QuestionHome@Com

At birth we have more than one "birth" destiny- as we grow older and are exposed to the world (as we loose our innocence) we make conscious choices and that will determine the outcome - the future can be changed by your actions today but the past can not changed!. Each one of us has got a main "path" but different ways of getting there (Destinies)Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes dear friend destiny determined from the day of our birth!. and we r not completely responsible for whatever happens in our life because god knows everything and he creates happiness and problems to us and he solves it also!.!.!.!.!.!. but our effort and gods blessings is importantWww@QuestionHome@Com

We are responsible for everything in our lives!. Period!. I think it's ludicrous to believe that everything from day one is mapped out for you!. That takes the living out of life!. We can paint our worlds however we wish!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
