Question: A somewhat complicated philosophy question!. !?
This is about the allegory of the cave but it get's more complicated (it's either that or I am complicating a simple issue)
We are influenced to think due to the shadow's of the fire!. The fire can represent friends,media,family and religion!.
However, even if you were to leave the cave and have children!. You would still influence them!. If you had friends outside the cave, your opinions and suggestions would still influence!. There isn't a fire outside the cave!. Is there!? (not according to Plato's allegory there isn't!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

i was so confused when i first heard Plato's allegory but i've grown to love it!. i think there might always be a cave for most people!. the only way to grow for them is to have a prejudice or bias towards something that you can change, improve or build off of to reach a deeper conclusion!. Every time you make a decision, you enter a larger cave, with more to explore and understand!. Consider that there might be sub-caves of experiences and thoughts!. I don't think that we're meant to leave the caves!. The real outside might be what happens after death!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The cave and the shadows represent the our common, everyday, ordinary impressions!. What we think life is!. Going to the store, and the store is part of a chain, and the headquarters are in Chicago and there's a board of directors, etc!. etc!. It's ALL an illusion!. First you have to wake up!. If you can become conscious, (leave the cave) you can see what life REALLY consists of!. It's this and it's also not this!.

i thought platos cave allegory meant that we are like cavemen surronded by a cave!. in it the caveman can only see the shadows of the physical things around them and not the actually things!. then once the caveman finds a way out of the cave, he is blinded by the brilliance of the sun and confused by the true nature of things, but then comes to accept it!. as for your question i really dont knowWww@QuestionHome@Com
to do that, you must leave all those people behind, or persuade them to come with!. Are they competent to interpret your new understanding!? If you are all outside, you may all be outcast, but you are all there because you share the same reason!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
