Hedonism main principle is to pursue pleasure for one's individual self!. Nothing can be more important than seeking pleasure to a hedonist, but this is taken in different ways amongst them!. Some hedonists only look for pleasure that will come immediately whereas others are willing to plan for pleasure in the future and they may even be willing to suffer to get to that ends if they believe that the pleasure will out way the suffering necessary for achieving it!. This is also disagreement upon the definition of pleasure!. Some think this word is synonymous with happiness, which can have vastly different implications for people!.

also, there are those who would argue that they are greatly pleasured by helping other people or being kind in some way!. This idea is one that can be used to make all of humanity look like hedonists!. One can interpret every action that a human does as seeking pleasure or at least avoiding suffering for their own self with this principle of kindness being beneficial to the one being kind, and hedonist agree on the idea of avoiding suffering so this is a legitimate motivation for their actions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The basic principle of Hedonism is that the persuit of pleasure should be the prime motivation in life!. This should not be confused with a lack of morals, a hedonist can have a very structured system of morals and ethics as to what he can and cannot do in persuit of pleasure!. However, givin a choice between activites, a hedonist is most likely to persue the most pleasurable one!.
