Question: When did capitalism become a bad word!?
Isn't what our founding fathers intended!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's been a bad word for as long as people have been thinking of economics in dogmatic terms rather than rationally and scientifically!. Most people have an incredible amount of faith in their gov't to fix any and all of life's problems, primarily through brute force!. Just pass this law, just take those peoples' money!. It's simple, elegant, and of course, wrong!. And nevermind that most economic problems can ultimately be traced back to gov't actions and interference!.

Dogmatic thinking also makes it extremely easy to demonize capitalism!. Capitalists are just a bunch of elitist, rich, monocle-wearing fat-cats who hate the common peasant and desire nothing but money and power!.!.!.right!? Ditto for big evil corporations, which are regarded as far more malevolent and destructive than gov't, despite the truth being exactly the opposite!.

The average person knows next to nothing about real economics, nor do they care to!. If they did though, then they'd know for a fact just how free markets are the most efficient way to allocate resources and the best way to increase standards of living for the most people, including the poor!. There's a reason why even a poor American is better off than a middle-class person in most other countries!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let's not miss the point here!.
Not only has capitalism flourished in this
country but we have exported it to the world also!.
The world is now trying
to catch up with us causing an imbalance in our trading!. We have
had to adopt some socialistic programs to help us adjust to the changes!.

In south China a shirt is produced for ninety three cents!. In North China it cost
ninety eight cents to produce the same shirt!. In some other asian countries
the shirt will cost ten or fifteen cents more to produce!.
What would it cost to produce here in US!?
India now has a middle class numbered near three hundred million
and I believe China is nearing that number!. As they become more
affluent, their cost to produce rises also and we become competitive againWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes it is what was intended !.

Now all of the lazy and stupid want a nanny state to take care of their every need so they dont have to do anything , hence the rise in socialism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When it became synonymous with pandering to an elite power base rather than maintaining an efficient and secure market!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
