Madness!. There are varieties as follows:-

(1) Madness by birth
(2) Madness that comes because of some accident in the brain areas!.
(3) Madness that comes because of unbearable worries, brooding, not being able to adjust to the environments!.
(4) Sheer madness that comes from unnecessary cultivation of violent behavior audacity, roughness and rudeness!.
(5) Some people get it because of wrong orientation and direction of their vital energies!.
(6) Some kind of mental illness comes only to females!.

Mind is a very mysterious part in our system!. We can make use of this mind for achieving pinnacle of successes or for our own downfall!. I have read and I am still reading lot of books on mind and its peculiarities even now, because in our family, there have been many cases of mental disorder!. I was also affected seriously for about a year, but because of the right guidance given to me by my learned parents and by the grace of God, I recovered!. Very few people recover!. For those who are disciplined and morally upright, it is easy to recover fast!.

Now I have made it a hobby to counsel and give right guidance to such people!. It is a very interesting subject!. I render this voluntary help only for right type of people and I do not want to gain popularity!.

For an elementary knowledge if anybody is interested, they can go through a book titled "The Mind and Its Control" written by Swami Budhananda, Advaita Ashrama, Calcutta!. It is a small hand book consisting of about 100 pages only!.

There is another book on "Mind" by Swami Satprakashananda published by Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mylapore, Madras-600034 (India) which is a bit elaborate!. Both are gems!. There are few other books also on the subject!. But these two books will take you to the proper destination!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes madness is evolution, they didn't get the phrase "there's a fine line between madness and genius", form nowhere - it can be true!.

great parts of my metaphysical understanding come from a brilliant philosopher who went certifiably insane in the 70's and thus suffered the evils of electric shock therapy to wipe his brain clean!. He reconstructed his philosophy from fragments of memory and a very inclusive set of notes he wrote and that reconstruction saved me from dangers in my own mind!.

i respect those of intellect who have gone insane regardless of if they are as effective as the philosopher i mentioned - I respect them because they truly pushed the boat out - while some boats being pushed get lost at sea, some find new land!.

Hello:

Really when people come together as a society we decide as a group what is 'normal and acceptable' and what falls outside of that!. Now Madness is just a way of doing things that does not conform to society's ideal(s)!. This will often be because it is destructive and threatens any society, however notions like gay marriage or marrying multiple people also fall into this!.!.!.I remember a time when some said!.!.!.some still do!.!.!.that homosexuality is a mental illness!. Madness is something we do not understand!. Its a lot like calling science we don't understand yet "magic"!.

As for the reason!.!.!.there are plenty of ways for the brain to work and a lot of different ways to life!.

I hope this helps

When reality and fantasy is confused and inter-changed it's close to madness!. Being 'aware' of your state at all times and yet daring to be different is not madness - it's sanity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That can be many things but you name two things and it can be both!.
(1) Your brain can't handle it, like many problems on your head!.
(2) A stop sign who is saying that we should stop right there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess it is multiple reference of (non-existing!.!.!.feelings or thoughts) created from single reference which brain can't decipherWww@QuestionHome@Com

I believe it is because people do not truly follow their heart!
When we don't follow our heart, we open the door to confusion!.
Therein allows negative energy to flourish!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's too late!. Reason is (or should it be UN-reason!?)you are going so fast you do not even see the stop sign!Www@QuestionHome@Com
