Question: Why is it not recommended to include subjective thought in science!?

What I think about something is a matter of my personal opinion that someone else might or might not agree with!. Whatever might be subjective in my mind for the rest of the world is objective for myself, the starting point of my personal knowledge, which might or might not be up to the standards of the rest of the world!. However, when I have another person agreeing with to share my opinion, to look at something and think and feel in a sort of similar way then I have, or we have, moved a little closer to being objective in our opinion, and so on!.

Science is not matter of personal opinions, or thoughts, facts or effects that cannot be universally experienced exactly the same, without any variations in thought, involvement of biases in opinion, prejudices or differences of understanding due to particular disposition of some people!. This is what science is based upon, this is how is proceeds to find facts in truth, and this is what it ultimately aims at, universality of knowledge!. Science is begins it s empirical exploration from our common understanding of the world and attempts to reach specific and in detail knowledge of the world that once again can progress to take form of our common understanding, the over all effect therefore is a progress and development of the mind, of our understanding of the world, and perhaps also of our sense of commonality, as what is common for us in form of an aeroplane was not as such a century ago!.

This is also to be highlighted that science, as an expression of human mind, is fundamentally subjective to our present day understanding, our realisation of needs, and our emotional behaviour to the world, to life - science as it is today is the way it is because we are the way we are!. In the future however we might understand ourselves, to realise some hidden potential of our mind in relation to our world!. If we are in the middle of a riddle of the universe then there must be some purpose to it, to our sense of wonder, and curiosity!. May be we need to realise our view of the world as form by our understanding through science is restricted because our lens, our current approach through science, is too narrow, or too subjective to our restrictive materialistically attuned mind, our form, and our current ability to understand!.

The idea of not recommending subjective thought is in itself subjective!. There's no escaping subjectivity!. We are all *subject* to it!. Our premonitions, our preconceptions, are just that -- pre -- they are what we call "always already!." It's totally human!.

I like to call this, in the words of Subcomandante Marcos, the "ideology of no ideology!." Science itself has philosophical-ideological premises!. Just look at race, for example!. The important thing isn't to "exclude" subjectivity; the important thing is to come clean with it and acknowledge its presence within the experiment and within the results!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Subjective thought, by definition has no evidential information to prove (or disprove) its claims!.

Science is all about evidence!.
Does experimental evidence support a hypothesis!?
Is this experiment repeatable and will it yeild the same information when carried out by other (disinterested) parties!?
If not then the hypothesis must be re-considered!.

I'm not sure what either subjective thought or science has to do with the art of tightrope walking (funambulism) though!.
I suppose trying to convince people that a hypothesis is valid based only on subjective thought would be a bit of a tightrope act!.

Cheers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Scientific thought is 1:1 measurement of material facts, and their condensation into formulae!.

Unmeasured hypotheses are meta-physical, i!.e!., beyond what is materially known!.

Subjective thought is believed to be meta-physical, by definition!.

However, even in physics, the most precise or scientific of the sciences, there are major and unavoidable metaphysical assumptions!. These include the concept of infinity, which is by definition unobservable, the concept of the field, which by definition is infinite in its possible measurements, the ideal point-mass assumption, which requires renormalization, etc!.

Because science is not subjective!.

edit: sorry, let me add to my previous answer:

I would define science (the general concept, excluding all the specialised branches) as a systemic knowledge of the world around us based on facts!. Facts should be tested in an objective fashion!. You're not trying to prove the theories, you're actually trying to DISPROVE them!. And if you manage to disprove the theories, then you can claim them as facts - more or less!. (This could lead into another philosophical debate about what is fact, but I shall ignore that)!.

Anyway, hope it helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Because science is not supposed to be subjective, but lets face it every thing is subjective!. You can't describe walking without describing the floor, as they say!. In fact, recently scientists are finding out that electrons only acts the way we observe them when we observe them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because science is matter of fact!. Its all facts, that means anything that isn't proven isn't true!.

Thoughts and opinion cannot be allowed to cloud over objectiveness because that would most likely lead to a false experiment/biasesness!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is not recommended because!.!.!.human passion and interests can control the scientific re salts and thus, science can end up being everything else than!.!.!.science (which means "knowledge")!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because it is what it is,i do not recomend telling the right thing to the wrong person!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's not being poised as objective thought and flies in the face of proper etiquette!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

because science is supposed to be objective!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Science is based upon facts, not opinions (thank god!)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
