None of the three Orwellian slogans were expected to make sense
except in the twisted 'mind control' logic of the piece!.
War was supposed to win an eventual peace, (sound familiar!?)!.
"Ignorance is strength" meant blind obedience to the leader
meant concerted action!.
"Freedom is Slavery" meant that freedom carried obligation,
(responsibilities), that Big Brother generously lifted from his followers!.

(That one is sort of true!. We do say we want freedom, but then we
try to avoid the responsibility for our choices, and are surprised
when we find that it doesn't work that way!.
That if we make choices, we must accept consequences!.
Eg!. The present credit crunch!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I live an alternative lifestyle and while this probably isn't appropriate for 1984 (has nothing to do with the book) I am a slave to a man I call Master!. In the lifestyle (BDSM) I am free to choose to be a slave!. I do so because I am submissive and I need to serve this man in order to obtain my own fulfillment!. The watchwords of the lifestyle are "Safe, sane and consensual!." Every thing a slave does for her Master she has chosen to do of her own freewill!. But He ultimately is in charge of their relationship because they have done a TPE (Total Power Exchange) and she has given Him the power over her to do what is in her best interest!. She gave it to Him of her own free will!.

I know that people do not agree with this, but it is a genuine lifestyle and one that many people embrace!. Giving up ones freedom CAN set them free!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is there truly ever Freedom!? Even here in America, the supposedly, "free nation" has its limitations!. There are universal laws that I feel restrict true freedom!. For example, we cant freely go and steal, kill, rape, etc!. Now I'm not saying I support stuff like that because I don't, but in truth, if we were really free, we could do those things without suffering consequences!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's NOT, eight ball!. Orwell was talking about double think, double talk!. Saying one thing and it's all bullsht!. Like whatever is erupting from the monkey in the oval orofice's mouthWww@QuestionHome@Com
