Question: Why do some people choose to believe in a religious faith, and some people choose not to believe in God!?

Faith = belief, trust, confidence and by definition is not the same as certain knowledge!. Many, many quite different religious beliefs have been adhered to over the millennia - most of which have disappeared as scientific knowledge and education in general have blown holes in superstition, myth and the way organised religion has been shown to be a form of control over the masses, exercised by those claiming to know God's commands (and demanding our compliance therewith)!.
Since concrete evidence tends to be missing - we'll only know there's a life hereafter when we die - many of us not so much choose to disbelieve - it's more a matter of not being able to believe in what are often quite contradictory concepts, as preached!.

It all depends on what satisfy your need!. The thing is that people have needs!. There is the need to eat, the need for love, spiritual need, sexual need etc etc!. Everybody is slightly different so it will required different levels of something to satisfy that particular need!. To a lot of people is is simpler and satisfactory to believe in an all powerful being!. Just believing in it is good enough!. There are others who do believe but require ore prove so, they study religion and what not!. The people that don't believe is because the evidence presented to them does not satisfy that need!. Simply put the explanation is not good enough for them!. Not enough evidence or not enough of whatever it is!. They may also have a low spiritual need!. There are people that need to be guided!. They need to have something looking after them so they have a God!. The idea of you are on your own and everything happens at random is not acceptable to them!. I subscribe to neither!. I do not choose to believe anything, I believe only what I have experienced, and understand that in the end there is only one universal truth, and everything else is up in the open!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because some people are more open to some reasoning than others!. Additionally, many people think that it's a good thing for their life if they believe in God, so they do it!. There is also the Fear aspect ie!. spend the rest of your life being an atheist or agnostic and supposedly rot in the pits of hell, or pray and supposedly live the good life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Christian idea is that our Creator has invited us to be transformed from animals into His sons and daughters!. Do we really want that!? The idea of the love of our Creator is extremely appealing but the idea of having God be an authority over us telling us how to live our lives is extremely repelling!. But if we are to be His sons and daughters, we have to accept the authority of God along with the love of God!. That is the fundamental decision we all have to make!.

I think for some people, the idea of worshipping a God with no proof if it exists is not difficult and for others, they need more concrete evidence that there is a God!. also, since most people who are religious grew up in their religion, having faith is simply a part of who they are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because its human nature people are only religious so that they have a reason to not worried about death!. So that they know that when they die they will live on!. I don't believe in god and i am positive that there isn't one!. Imagine if we knew god isn't real people will be putrefied to die because if there is no god what happens to use!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I dont believe you have to be religeous to believe in God!. I believe in God but rarely visit the church and dont particularly practice in any religeous activities!.
I believe God is just happy that people know he is there and I also believe he now understands the limitations to the Human mind and this is the reason he forgives ALL for whatever we have done in our lives!. The reason I say 'now understands' is because Jesus, whilst on his cross asked God to forgive us as we were unaware of what we had done!. If God understood the limitations of the Human mind then, why did christ ask for him to forgive!?
But as for your question, It is like love and hate!. You cant help feeling either way!. The only control you have is how you deal with your thoughts!. I!.e!. Just because you hate someone dosnt mean you have to hurt them!.

some are led away by satan and unfortunatly, most of those people are never led back :(
there is also the aspect of being a "goody goody" and religions are no longer cool but reading a satanic bible is which is sad

Some people are gullible and some people are not!. Unfortunately, most religious faiths use circular reasoning to explain everything negative about the faith, so it is hard to get people out once they've become indoctrinated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
