Disappointment comes from the same place as the sense of independent self, I think that before one gets to enlightenment they've eliminated desire and clinging to the point that disappointment no longer occurs and a sense of self as in the ego no longer really exists for them!.!.this is just spekalashin though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Enlightenment is giving yourself permission to do what needs to be done, then doing it!.

Enlightening people is easy; getting them to notice that they are enlightened, that is considerably more difficult!.

Enlightenment is just making life burdens lighter!.

Enlightenment is scary until you realise you are not your personality!. If your personality changes, you are still you!.

I don't think it is!. But if it is, I'll take it because my self-worth or self importance if you wish, has given me an open-mindedness which I never knew existed!. The spiritual knowledge or insight into who I really am has put me in a path in which I can put my superego aside!. If this is due to my ego, than I am not disappointed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i am not sure, but i have never heard of any enlightened one who said he does not like this state or wants to go back to ignorance and ego or who was disappointed by the ultimate seeing of truth :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

My ego says meow!. It brings light into every moment!.!.!.then just goes and cries by itself later holding tight to it's dressed up puppets: 'Id' and 'Super Id' (who has a cape) making lots of kissy noises between soft whimpering sounds in a private tea party for three in the dark!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ego could be another word for pride so yes it would be let down by humility which would take over and make life more peaceful and therefore also more enjoyable filled with love!.So ego would not even know he would just simply be canceled out by humility!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The only ones ever really disappointed by enlightenment are tyrants, so, to the extent that ego is tyrannical, ego may indeed be quite disappointed by enlightenment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
