If you consider something to be a moral rule for a given situation, then it must be logically sound and can be consistently applied in reality, otherwise it does not qualify as a moral rule!. For example, slavery was evil because the moral rule it was based upon was logically inconsistent!.

You can't say something like "All men are created equal" and then have some men be deemed "property" and some men not be deemed property!. Either all men are deemed to be free or at liberty, or all men are slaves!.

So yes, "morality" as a set of rules to guide human behavior is absolute since a moral rule must be logically sound and consistently applicable in reality to all people in all places!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Local and different from place to place!. Absolute morality is a dream of puritans who govern others!.And would be nightmare for those others!. Morality is not universal and exist only among people flocked in societies!.By the way it is man made faculty!. That which is man made cannot be absolute neither universal, unless human is a God who created Universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Absolute moral requires absolute power to govern it!.

I am only human and my power is limited, so it is relative for me!.

For those considering it absolute, they are already indicating a relative moral to mine, therefore they in effect hold a relative moral as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i don't think so!. i think it actually varies from person to person on the smallest issues!. (ex, when is it ok, if ever, to steal, when does life start, lying etc)
some indian tribes used to make sacrifices, some were cannibals, some people are polygamous
its hard to understand why people have different moral standards, and how some can possibly justify beliefs/acts that we might consider an obvious "no-no"

Of course not!. Morality is relative!. Morality is the product of the evolutionary development of man and society!.

As far as universal goes!.!.
My idea of morality is not the same as yours!.
Though we may use the same word!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Morality is Divine legality, the laws that govern the universe for peace and harmony!. They are absolute!. Ethics and man made law are culturally dependent!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
