I believe the majority of people does take things/people for granted!. Even I do it and don't realize it till it's too late!. It's a sad thing really but when most people realize they then learn to appreciate, their whole mindset changes!.

I know what you mean, it's not so easy to change the path your on, but you can diff try to understand why you take things for granted and ask yourself would you like it for yourself or how would you feel!. also remind yourself nothing last forever and our time here is limited, so we should try to enjoy each moment and treat everyone equally!.

It's not easy to change your habits but you can sure try , one step at a time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't mean that we should not respect people, the things people do, and (even) inanimate objects but we should expect certain things!. There shouldn't always be an ostentatious show over something normally taken for granted (like air or the right to free speech)!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

In shintoism the priests praise the various kami (spirits) that inhabit objects and places around them!. This is a very time consuming process!. If we were to stop and appreciate the universe, the sun, the planet, our home, our farms, our car, our electric lights, our paved roads, our stop lights, street signs, the white and yellow line, the!.!.!. well you get the picture!. We would have no time to live in between all the thanking whomever!. If I were a shinto, I would pay for a priest to do all that for me!. Since I am not, I try and focus on general gratitude and on telling the PEOPLE I know how much I appreciate them!.

I think really understanding how blessed we are is too great a burden!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For me, I know I must constantly be aware of what someone has done for me!. No matter how great or small it needs to be shown appreciation!. Actions speak louder than words!
