Once a long time ago I mis-read a feeling about a car trip I was planning to take!. I remember even telling a friend I had a bad feeling about taking the trip but thought it might be I felt guilty for taking the time off work, I was a manager at the time!. Well, I did take the trip & was in a horrible car accident where both my daughter & I nearly died!. She had a massive head injury & I literally broke my neck!. They say your life flashes before your eyes at such times, & it did for me!. Today we are both ok, but I have had many problems as I got older due to this break at C-2!. My daughter is perfect now!. You can bet if I feel any doubt now, I listen! I was 22 & not very good at understanding what I felt!. Today I would rather just be safe than sorry!. Hard way to learn a lesson!

This is a very intuitive question to which the intuitive answer is many times!. So what!? There are far more times when intuition has proved to be wrong!.

So the question should be: what proportion of the times when intuition could be used instead of reason or logic, has it proved to be right!? This time the answer is about 20% or possibly even less!.

Moral: Intuition and instinct are fine things in animals and help them to survive, but we have a superior method called thought!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Intuition, Inference, Imagination, Ideas all these are very useful gifts of God to us!. It comes like a flash to the individuals!. We should develop the habit of noting the points down then and there for follow up at a later stage!. Even I have seen some of the pending things of our household work may come to our knowledge in our bed!. Many a times we miss the opportunity of jotting down!.

Unless an emergency situation comes, we do not attend to our pending things!. I am telling this about me!. I do not know how you are organized and systematic in your handling!. It is not intentionally that I overlook, but it is only because of negligence that we forget to give importance to our intuitions!. We generally take insignificant things lightly!. Very, very seldom is this overlooked, thus very, very seldom is there regret, for intuition is Soul speaking to the mind by way of the Heart, which I make no bones about!.

There may be a somewhat staging and queuing of it to adjust to outer influences or follies posed by others, such as that of the free will of others!. But that is part of the knowing of how to administer intuition!.

Yes, indeed, there have been many times in the past when I ignored my intuition only to regret later!.

However, I want to share a thought here about intuition, which I am sure a person of your caliber would want to consider carefully!. All said and done, intuition is the first impulse and it happens so automatically within our mind that we are not able to consciously attribute our own role or intent in its formation!. Since it is different from an instinct which is perhaps mostly genetic, we tend to attribute some sort of a supernatural dimension to it!. In fact, in my own experience, if the first impulse proves to have been right post-facto, then only we remember it as an intuition!.!.!.!.!.!.!. on the other hand, those first impulses that prove to have been false-starts in the ultimate analysis are simply forgotten as mere impulses and never remembered as intuition!. I therefore prefer to call all of them first impulses and nothing more than that!. I believe in being thoughtful and meditative rather than being impulsive, because my own experience has shown that my first impulses are more biased and lopsided than my considered views and decisions!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. and I also believe that with another person, it is quite possible that his/her first impulses may be more objective than the considered view or decision because there are a lot of people who are not capable of thinking objectively and for such people, a spontaneous idea or decision would be better on that account!.

To summarize, I really see no supernatural dimension in what we call intuition!.!.!.!.!. and I believe that for some people the spontaneous idea may prove more often to be better only because their faculty of cogitation is clouded by emotions and subjective bias!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. otherwise, we human beings have this faculty of cogitation which is what makes us so much the better than all other living beings here on earth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have overlooked my intuition a few times, maybe more than i can count, then found that my "gut instinct" was right all along!. Then comes the regret and feeling that you either missed an opportunity, or could have prevented something from going wrong!. LOL you asked a very good ques sister!.!.just one hour back I was thinking of this !.!.I thought " What is the remedy to my fooolishness!.!.o I am such a misguided soul! Maybe I should follow my intution alone in future and nothing else of my own thoughts!.!.but alas I fail to follow it everytime otherwise life would have been a totally different thing; rather I use my brain instead which doesnt even work!"
