Question: Is it not better to be a minimalist!?
The citizens of the developed world seem lost in a frenetic materialistic pursuit!. Those wise enough realize that once we are down this decadent path, we can never be satisfied, and along the way lose sight of what is really important!. The more we have the more we want, and we walk over others to obtain it!.

Would we not all benefit from a mindset of minimalism!? Instead of learning how to make more money and buy more toys, should we not learn to get by with less!? Have we let greed and mammon rule our lives!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

i discovered minimalism by planning my retirement, i realized id be happier with a lot less (thereby helping me retire earlier) and living a relaxed lifestyle rather than living a rat race, working endlessly to accumulate lots of possessions and wealth!.

It would be difficult to change that wihtout an introduction to spirituality of some sort for that person

unless that person can find spirituality and closeness with their"Being" which leaves no want!.!.!.but they have to be willing to seek and obtain it and then will be richly fulfilled without the desire for earthly thingsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, I agree with your ethical command!. Once materialistic desire for fads and fashion, wealth and political power has taken over one's sanity, it never knows its limits!. The best bet is to abstain with conscience from material excess, and desire for wealth!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Minimalism may merely imply laziness and inadequacy!. The answer perhaps lies in moving away from this excessive bias towards quantity and concentrating on quality!. That would bring values back into reckoning and redefine efficiency!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

thats one thing we have to 'thank' the yanks for well done for giving us consumerism and celebrities, u have cursed us foreverWww@QuestionHome@Com

No!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!.!.!.!.
If people would turn off their TV set, and take a look around, they'd realize that 'things' are not the value of a life!. We are so easily persuaded that THIS is what we need, and THAT will make us feel successful!. And God forbid if you actually PRAISE someone, no!.!.!.just buy them something, that'll show them!. Things as rewards keep this cycle going!. Little Johnny makes it to 2nd base, so he gets a new Transformer!. We should do our best because we are able, not to reap a reward!.
Family, friends, experiences are the true value!. I'm striving towards a more minimalistic approach!. I struggle with the mindset of minimalism in the sense that I don't like letting things go!. It would sure make things less cluttered!. And I think when we clutter our lives with stuff, activities, things, we don't allow ourselves time to breathe/live/experience!. We just exist to take care of the stuff!.
