If thinking was the only criterion, while neither the level nor complexity of itself was considered, some of the non-human animals do share this trait with humans and therefore, yes, thinking is not uniquely a human trait!.

Thinking and reason is different based on logic!. I could be thinking of claiming the Moon as my own!. Reasoning would show that!.!.!. it's too big a chunk of cheese for me to waste!? :)

Reasoning is in itself thinking with logic!. So if that's the relationship being given, that reasoning 'presumes' thinking, yes!. Thinking does not presume reasoning, such as me having no specific reason to find your question interesting as posted, but I read it and would like to provide an answer!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would agree with you!. at first glance, yes, reasoning seems to presume thinking, but thinking does not seem to presume reasoning!.

but then again!. what is it to "think"!? doesn't thinking necessarily need reason in order for it to be "thinking"!? can you imagine a situation in which there is thinking but no sort of reason whatsoever!? the only way you can imagine this seems to be something in which it observes things at random, and chaotically, such as random screens or pictures flashing through a computer's circuit board!. but then, when you find a case like this!.!.is it really even thinking anymore!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

thinking can be intentional or automatic; reason seems to be something arrived at intentionally!. Possibly even consciously!. And yes to your second question!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
